Brings up an interesting point (not really for us at this stage).....Would you expect a manager to accept a pay rise if it meant that he couldn't afford to acquire some of his targets?.... i.e "you can have 60k p/w instead of 30k p/w but we won't be able to afford all you targets"....What would Jesus do?

I'd rather we gave Martinez the extra money in salary, than gave it to another Alcaraz or Kone.....

Great news and obviously a surprise last night. I can't see why anyone can criticise the club for this as BK just said that 3 clubs came in for him and we want to tie him down and obviously if he does move on in that time then we get compensation which is good business after what happened last time. Roberto will have that dream for many years to come.

Always said give him 18 months, the only reason i can see such a huge new improved contract is because he must have had an offer on the table from another club.

Nice one, I'd guess Spurs were one of those three, Arsenal might of enquired as well before Wenger re-signed, the other was prob a Spanish club.
