I mean technically GOT is a form of social media but if you said "hey name a social media platform" no one is saying a footie forum. Regardless, that still doesn't detract from my point.

For someone to come in here and automatically assume someone must be innocent because social media says otherwise is just archaic and sad.
If this was me you're referring to you've misunderstood the spirit of my post. I wasn't assuming guilt or innocence, for I - like much the rest of social media i suppose - do not know all the facts of the case. However, based on untried evidence I would be reticent to condemn anybody.

To be clear though... IF the transcripts and the audio are true and faithful then the young lad needs considered punishment and correction. This is an entirely different process from mob action and sanctimonious virtue signalling. I mean - who knows the circumstances or whole story - not that there's justification there - but young lads and young lasses makes mistakes - especially after too much booze perhaps. It seems they've settled their differences. On this occasion, who is to judge?

To quote a certain well known celebrity from 2000 or so years ago - "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Sorry this in my opinion is about whether he has already been tried by social media. If it went to court, not sure how he could get a fair trial anyway, which everyone Is entitled to. I am sure his lawyers would have put that to the CPS.
No problem. I was just explaining why the CPS left it alone as you spoke about a trial.

I would have hoped the CPS would deem it in the public interest to push on anyway.

If the lad wasn't as talented, he'd be out. It's all about levels of morality.

The meme I posted that was all United fans getting Maguire out but Greenwood is fine s all down to talent.

But then you'll hear fans say they wouldn't have players no matter how talented if theyre a "bad egg" with "attitude issues" in the dressing room...

Yet battering his Mrs and trying to get his end away after she said no doesn't register to some people's morals. Being a bit of an arse and disruptive in a dressing room is.

United don't need that around their neck

Being a footballer is such a privileged job, it shouldn’t just be a case of him packing up and going to another country to ply his trade. As a sport collectively clubs, sponsors and the industry need to turn their back on him. What message does it send to young boys looking up to their role models. Do what you like because there’s absolutely no comeback. Or worse yet what message does it send to women, even in your relationships you aren’t safe and as a society we won’t protect you from one of your most basic fears. Infact not only will we not protect you we’ll continue to celebrate the guy that did it to you.
My point was, that if he wants to "ply his trade" and behave like a misogynistic arsehole, then Saudi is the place where that would be acceptable. No?

Seriously? Hard? I honestly have more interesting pursuits than trawling through celebrity gossip. Its not hard to distance yourself from the baying rabble .
You seem very quick to let everyone know you’re too cool to keep up with the facts of a case, but then leap in with claims of false allegations made against wealthy men that ruin lives.

Don’t want to condemn an actual abuser (beyond a token “he’s a bad one”, once you’ve read the damning transcript), but ready to pounce with insidious “observations” about the tribulations of those poor hordes of wealthy men.

Quite the misogynist, aren’t you?

Seemingly he’ll get to do it here mate. No doubt there’ll be some fresh updates on the United takeover situation shortly after it’s announced he’s staying, and he’ll be out of the news cycle and in the clear.
