I can really see the dilemma on the business side for Manchester United as he is a very valuable and highly talented asset. Has he been tried and found guilty? No, so no legal reason why they can't get him back playing. Will the fans accept him back? I imagine it will be split and there will most likely be the 'well she's had a kid with him so it can't be that bad' justification.
All I know is that if it was us in this position I'd want him punted and nowhere near the club. To the female staff and our female fanbase (most importantly for me my 2 girls) what kind of message is it sending out if he was welcomed back in?
As we know it's not a easy as that though.

They have left it too long and it’s more difficult now. As soon as the video was out that was the time to make a decision. Now the legal grounds have disappeared and any decision will be wrong. Any number of clubs will pick him up now if he sacked

Don’t want to condemn an actual abuser (beyond a token “he’s a bad one”, once you’ve read the damning transcript), but ready to pounce with insidious “observations” about the tribulations of those poor hordes of wealthy men.

Honestly I always just thought that was him playing up to a bit of a forum character. To be so dismissive about the case, though, and then follow it up by peddling the tired, old gammon mantra about how men’s lives are destroyed by false allegations? Grim, that.

I think @chrismpw is a brilliant poster. I can read his posts about boats, festivals, kitchens, etc, all day long, and learn things. But the “female” stuff is jarring, and in respect of his input in this thread, he’s just plain wrong AFAIC.

In Chris' defence, he hasn't heard it, and so cannot be expected to react so vehemently like those who have heard it do. I agree the responses are jarring and clunky, but let's have a little benefit of the doubt for a valued contributor and old school grouch. This in no way diminishes the activity of greenwood or the behaviours initially alleged. I made my point previous re Caroline Flack.
There's no beating greenwood down by pursuing Chris, lets take a moment to reflect on that at least.

I'll assume you lazily haven't read the rest of what I've written here , rather than assume you're a total blithering idiot for misunderstanding it. For clarity - at no point have I ever defended him - I can't. I don't know the case, I wouldn't dream of it. I'm just cautioning people to look into evidence, rather than follow a crowd. I've also suggested that women (not in this case) can also (god forbid me fir not being woketastic 3000) guilty of being dishonest or in the wrong eith their claims (ref to the case of female Rooney v female Vardy - both women, one found to be in the wrong. The judge also must have been a misogynist.)

I heard the recording. He's a sexually aggressive bellend who assaulted his own missus and has probably done it before. That's my opinion, and if "the crowd" have come to the same conclusion, that's entirely coincidental. He got off legally, he's lucky that public judgement is all he has to contend with

Then read it carefully. I'm questioning ... not stating. Honestly we live in a world now where only the bravest dare ask for balance.

So many people like to misunderstand and misinterpret just so they can leap onto their enormously tall horse, pitfork in hand and virtue signal. It's the easy path to gain unthinking friends.

I challenge anybody who has read this thread to show where I've justified or accepted as decent anything the lad's done. All I've talked shout is consider whether what the public knows is all of the story, all of the circumstances. I've pointed out that some women can lie for gain (as can men - but we live undef sm ethos that elmen are never wrong, greedy or evil, so it needs saying - because they ard, after all, humans too). I don’t care what people call me for saying the truth but honestly, misogynist is just wrong and wide of the mark. I dislike men equally as much as I dislike women, and I like some women as much as I like men. I judge per individual's action not by pigeonhole.

I font doubt it... but "probably" is the damning word that destroys all the arguments here. The law and right does not and should not take "probably" into account. So much of this case is assumption by the public.

And to be clear to those many so far that are too dull to have understood my point ... I'm not saying what he is alleged to have done, (if the alleged evidence is shown to be admissible) is in any way ok!!

I have nothing to sell other than an opinion pointing out that we do not know all the facts. I'm not defending the blert - I barely know of him and care even less ... I just get jumpy when a crowd if lemmings start running and I question the reasons. Apparently this makes me all kinds of misogynist for not automatically condemning him.

If you know more than the CPS to make a case then please state it.
