The main issue I have with Holgate is he really is very poor in the air, hopefully when Mina is finally fit (will it happen) then Mina can play alongside Zouma and Holgate can be back up Centre half / Right back.
Probably at some point. I do this weird thing where I judge people on their merits, so if somebody isn’t playing well I mention it. It’s not for everyone like, I appreciate that.

What's wrong with saying he doesn't rate someone, especially someone who has done absolutely nothing to suggest he's going to be a premier league CB.

Thats just not true though is it, he has looked good for us, very good at times. In a striggling defence/team. You have to take this into consideration.
How would Gomez play on out team?? He would not look an england player, thats for sure.

Genuinely mate, I just think it seems that Holgate gets such an easy ride from most on here.
He's shown glimpses but he's also still ridiculously naive in the way he defends.
Disagree on Gomez. He looks the part and would in any team.
He's got good speed. He reads the game ok. He's a very good tackler. But I maintain, and I always have, that he is woeful in the air. He allowed himself to be completely bullied by a championship striker yesterday. It was a complete stinker of a performance. It doesn't mean he's a bad player and it doesn't mean he has no future here. But he needs to become a better header of the ball and become more physical if he wants to remain here long term. I was concerned by him yesterday. He needs to work very hard and improve.
I think he’ll be a good player for us. Maybe not as a starter, but as someone who can come in and do a job when either of the main 2 are injured, suspended or rested. He needs a chance to develop though.
