He's just not ready to command a place at CB. That doesn't mean he's awful. He does some things well against lesser players.

My point has always been, he's been heralded as a must starter in here. The main CB with whom we should find a partner.

I just don't see it yet. I don't see anything he's fantastic at.

But we shouldn't give up on him. He's played a relatively small amount of games at CB.

Mate we should absolutely give up on him. We aren't a charity or a rehab centre.

We need to stop giving English lads a chance just for the sake of it. Until our academy is run by a competent coach then there's nothing coming through.

Yes but we can't bin players based on one game. I'm merely advocating a period on the bench once Keane and Mina are ready.

He may never make it but he's done some ok things. He needs to thicken up and spend more time in the gym rather than the barber.

Those tactics made everyone look bad - him and Zouma were miles apart at times and the two fullbacks were in the opposition half.

If Silva is going to do that then there has to be a third defender with them or Schneiderlin stays back, but that didnt happen in the first half and Gueye couldnt do it (because Siggy kept going forward) in the second because there would have been noone in midfield. The end result was that it was often 3 or even 4 vs 2 at times, and no defender is going to be able to cope with that least of all someone who didnt play that well today.

Hopefully Silva will look at that and switch to a three, which would solve many of our current problems.

This ain't one game. I cringe every time I see his name. He is a shirker. He backs off and hopes someone else does the job for him. The worst people to work with in any walk of life.

Today was just ridiculous. He was beyond pathetic and his bottle went yet again. We are a soft touch. A comfortable number for gash young players. Should all be sent packing.

Holgate is absolutely woeful, cannot believe people were calling for him to be a starter. He's ok (ish) when he has a leader alongside him telling him what to do but just watch how lazy he is, the first goal today he just jogged back when he was out of position, bust a bloody gut to get back man!! The third was equally as poor, just let arnautovic run off him, so much of defending is not necessarily dispossessing people but being a presence, nudging people just as they're about to hit it. He thinks he's big time because he starts from time to time, just watch him on those behind the scenes youtube videos walking round as if he owns the place. He shouldn't be anywhere near the starting eleven when Jagielka, Keane, Zouma and Mina are fit.
