Well obviously I completely disagree. We're talking about one of the worst individual performances in recent memory there. Hard to legislate for a gutless error strewn effort like that. At least Lescott we knew was deliberately crap. That was supposedly his best efforts.

He's a mixture of posts from before and after transfer deadline day:

Would love to see this young man make the step up to being first choice.

For me would fit perfectly into Southgate's back three as a RCB.

Totally agree, back when Galloway had that season at left back I thought him and Holgate would have been perfect for the outside of the three. Centre backs comfortable covering the wings if need be. So much for Galloway though...

Bring a quality CB or even two for him to play alongside and watch him shine.

Play him next to Keane and Williams and watch him sink.

Apparently he lined up alongside Keane , with Baines and Coleman in one practice match . I’d be happy with that as our starting back four.

He’s quality.

Mason has played centre back 15 times for us (full 90 minutes) 2 defeats in those games to Man U and Spurs.

Hope Silva sees what a good player this lad is.

The echo have dropped in that Marco rates him in previous articles. I rate him highly too. I’d play him next to Nesta or whoever we sign.

Hope he stays....he needs encouragement from the management and another decent CB to play alongside..

I do think he will establish himself this season. I've been impressed with him since he first appeared for us .

If he had Zooma alongside him instead of Keen .............

The lad plays with confidence and attitude. Going to be a good centre half with the right partner.

I like him. Think he’s way better than Keane and would like to see a bit of trust put into him.

I think he’s going to cement himself in the team this season. Him with Keane/Mina/Zouma...............Jagielka, all fighting it out to partner him.

Both. Ball (?), Jeffers (?) Rooney, Hibbert, Osman, Rodwell (ur...), Mustafi, Stones, Barkley and Duffy (kind of).

I just feel people are overrating massively the youth players from time to time. Most of them won’t make it in PL. And to rely on them playing as backup while getting results. If this club is gonna to break into top6 surely there must be 20 odd players ready to start. Yea I am harsh but today’s crap result show they might not ready to be backup.

He had a mare watch west hams first goal he has pace yet he almost walked back when they broke......
the rest of the team were poor but he stood out of being out of his depth today ?...
