Probably collecting his winnings on us getting beat..Lol, don't he do it online like the rest of us, maybe after the free tea and bikkies
Michael Keane does that too, he is hardly the poster boy for arrogance.I find this puzzling tbh. Do you not think the swaggering about and trying to ping diagonal Hollywood passes across the pitch that never ever come off indicates a confidence in his ability that isn’t actually there?
It isn’t actually hard to be a “body language expert” either tbh, most human beings can interpret body language, it’s really not that complex and doesn’t require you to be an expert.
Believe me you don’t need to be an expert pal. It’s very very obvious. He’s a player who I thought would go on to big things, 4 years on the fame and fortune has certainly got to him.I don't see that at all.
We seem to have an awful lot of body language experts supporting us though. DCL seemingly "can't be bothered" either.
His attitude has always been the same though, it’s just that what people like to call being ‘a winner’ and having ‘a bit of snide’ when things are going well very quickly becomes ‘arrogant’ and ‘thinks he’s better than he is’ when they aren’t.Believe me you don’t need to be an expert pal. Yea he seems over confident and Keane under confident...partnership made in h....I find this puzzling tbh. Do you not think the swaggering about and trying to ping diagonal Hollywood passes across the pitch that never ever come off indicates a confidence in his ability that isn’t actually there?

Of course, because advice from one of the best CBs in Premier League history could only stall their developmentCould have the timeline wrong but seemed like him and Godfrey were progressing well until that moron Rio Ferdinand decided to ‘mentor’ them both
This is the same Rio Ferdinand that had to be told by Alex Ferguson to choose between playing for titles or continuing to build himself as a brand for the likes of MTV…He may have been world class, doesn’t mean he’s any good at passing any of that knowledge on thoughOf course, because advice from one of the best CBs in Premier League history could only stall their development
Yes, perhaps. It does seem players focus more and more on their brand these days than their teamsThis is the same Rio Ferdinand that had to be told by Alex Ferguson to choose between playing for titles or continuing to build himself as a brand for the likes of MTV…He may have been world class, doesn’t mean he’s any good at passing any of that knowledge on though

25 nowI'm probably going a bit deep here, but I think he has psychological traits that are not suited to being a defender. I dont mean arrogance or cockiness or whatever, but he seems to be quite risk taking in a position that you essentially need to be quite risk averse.
You look at most of the best defenders, and they see and sense danger. I'd imagine they have quite an anxious world view.
I also think it's why he looks so inconsistent. When it goes well he looks great. Hes a bit like a cricket batsman whos extremely aggressive, and on the odd occasion he scores big looks fantastic, but will nick off early a lot too. At 24, I doubt hes going to become rounded.
His other issue, is hes not good enough to okay for a team who are going to dominate possession which is probably what he needs. Sort of the the reverse Michael Keane, or Joe Gomez paradigm (Gomez being someone who I think would look pretty awful in a poor side).
Yeah I agree with that, his decision making and sending of danger are both awful. He’s one of many modern footballers - a number of them play for us -who I don’t think has a natural position. There are some players you can look at and you just think ‘he’s a centre half/winger etc’ even when that’s not where they’re playing. With holgate I don’t get that sense at all, he just doesn’t seem a natural fit, nor does he at full back. I did wonder at one point whether he might be best suited to a midfield destroyer role but his ability on the ball probably stops it.I'm probably going a bit deep here, but I think he has psychological traits that are not suited to being a defender. Dude, this guy and Michael Keane carry themselves the same way?Michael Keane does that too, he is hardly the poster boy for arrogance.
I think people are mixing up arrogance with just being crap at football.
