Going to be awesome this lad. Watched his debut for the u21's in the mini derby and he gave a pen away early on. But after he settled he looked class.

Really thank he's gonna be a very good player for us.
 

I've only seen him play in a few U21 games ( where he didn't really stand out ) and the borefest that was Rooney's testimonial ( where he did well ), so today was a step up for him into a really competitive game.

The lad did well, I can see why Koeman thought he was up to the job.

It was the first time the defence tried to pass the ball about instead of getting rid - that cost us the goal which Holgate tried to defend can't blame him or the keeper for that goal it was a clinical cross with a bull it header!

I think he was guilty of watching the ball, not the man, he got caught out. Hopefully he'll learn, otherwise he was excellent. Our defending as a team leading up to that goal was shambolic for a couple of minutes. The ghost of Martinez will not be exorcised overnight.
 
Holgate looks a good prospect. Positioning is good, reading of the game is fairly good, on the ball he is quite good, heading needs to be improved. Very impressed overall for someone so inexperienced knowing he can only get better.
