Looks a good solid defender which is primarily what we need from defenders. Made a mistake for the goal but was otherwise exemplary in a game that we were under high amounts of pressure.
...clearly very talented but I still wonder if his physicality will restrict his ability to play CB at the highest level. From what I saw, though, he did well yesterday. I wouldn't blame him too much for the Spurs goal, Lamela did what good forwards do to get in front of the defender and dispatch a fine header.

We're did he make a mistake mate? Lamela came In unmarked free header are 3 center backs just didn't go with the runner. ( which happened a lot last season ) that aside I thought he was pretty impressive.

Stones was only played a RB initially, this kid has been trusted by koeman to drop in at CB...he is growing still and no doubt the backroom team will target muscukar growth. Thought he was great yesterday...massive talent...
....yep, I think you're right. Kevin Ratcliffe wasn't the tallest but he had bulk, I suspect Holgate is naturally lithe but as you say, he's only young and can fill out.

I think he went from 5'11 to 6'3 suddenly didnt he? So im confident we havent seen the last of him growing...wont ever be a huge monster but doesnt need to be.
Must be a big boost for him that Koeman comes in and straight away sees it in him.
Another good game for him yesterday. As well as all the physical attributes he seemingly has to adapt to Premier League football he most importantly seems to have the most important non physical one; temperament.

But he's only 19 mate so he's still growing as such wants he fills out and is at the gym loads.... we will have a better player
He does not some steds. But not as bulky as Barkley which is too much for a PL footballer.
...I agree. His class and speed will help but he will need to be strong enough to not be outmuscled in this league.
Lad has talent thought he did ok yesterday, lost his man for their goal, more expierence required.

Think it was him who gave the ball away that led up the the goal. Also thought it was too easy for lamella to get infront of him. Don't get me wrong I thought he was superb for his age and experience and he's a definite option at the back.
