Stones was is good, but it was the media and being English that bigged him up to being a 50 million player, had he been from elsewhere he would have been a 25 million player, which to be honest should be his value. Good at playing with the ball at his feet but poor at defending. Holgate from what I've seen is much better at defending and at the end of the day that's what you want a defender to do. IMO we haven't missed stones one bit.

Stones suffered from Martinez being the manager he'd be a much better player if he'd of had 3 seasons under a manager who knew what they were doing defensively.
 
Stones has been found out at the highest level just like most of us knew he would be. Makes many many mistakes and he's not a kid anymore. He's enough premier league experience to have learnt from and improved upon and I don't see it. That's why he's been in and out of the city side.

He was hyped up because he was being played at a very young age at the back and he's english

If your correct the damage has now been done, IMO he is the weak link in the man city defence, I'm just glad we got top money for him and we haven't missed him one bit. That was a win win deal for us.

The defence has obviously been fine without him but I think it has been clear that we're missing a defender who can step into midfield with the ball. Was nice to see Holgate do that yesterday.

Great to see him getting game time and us keeping a clean sheet.

I think that's a good thing, to me that means he looks to fit in well and is at home in the team whilst maybe not standing out
 
He played well yesterday but still showed that he's got some improvement yet. Ulloa gave him a tough time when he came on but I think that sort of thing is down to MH not being filled out yet. That will obviously change over the next couple of years.
 

I actually thought he was weak for the goal against Spurs,
can't remember much about the WBA game but he did get forward a lot,
He was caught out a couple of times against Stoke when Arnautovic could of scored,
and he was caught out against Leicester when the forward should of scored with a header.

still very much a work in progress with a lot to learn.

Pick a player, any player, any match and you will find a mistake or 2. Young , old, experienced, it doesn't matter.
