Good chance of being a really top player,my only concern is a lack of height for a centre back.

Cannavaro was smaller and he was one of the worlds best CB's for years. Now i'm not comparing the 2, just making the point that it may not stop Holgate becoming a top CB if he works on the rest of his game. Plus, although not the tallest, he has a very good leap so it may not become an issue.

Could be,but the difference with cannavaro was he was not playing here,were the ball goes high in the box a lot more.

Teams most improved players DAILY MAIL;

Everton - Mason Holgate

Despite incredible promise, Holgate didn't get a look-in last season, even when Everton were really struggling for form. This campaign, however, has seen the 20-year-old defender make his much-anticipated breakthrough.

When Ronald Koeman has thrown him in, Holgate has shown poise beyond his years whether deployed at centre half or right back and, on what we've seen so far, a bright future awaits.

Looked good for a young player hope he keeps it up, gets about the pitch well and is up for a challenge, needs to fill out a bit, but that will come in the next few years, don't think his height is an issue 6ft isn't really that small if he has a good leap.
Only problem is will he get the games to improve, and can he keep it up, thought Galloway was looking really good at this stage and he seems to have fell off the scene, last time I caught him playing in the younger teams he looked to have a awful game and attitude .
Done nothing at WBA

If he's the weak link, what are the strong ones?
To be fair there defence is poor if Kompany isn't playing, but Stones is the poorest at actually defending. But there defence is really of no interest to me we mugged them of around 50 million, the best bit of business we have done in years. I'm more interested in what we are going to do in the January window, Stones is old news now.

Looks like he's got the making of a solid defender. Not too shabby with the ball at his feet either. Hope he gets a good run of games in the team and can step up to replace jags for next season.
Good to see he was rewarded for a solid performance v Leicester with a start against hull. Nothing like playing your in form players in such am important position as centre back.
