Match Fixing

It's dispiriting that we had to go through the motions of playing a game that clearly was recorded as a City win both (i) before a ball was kicked and (ii) irrespective of how well either team played. Given recent form, the hope was presumably that City would be out of sight by half-time, which wouldn't have highlighted/required anything iffy. Foden's goal got a lot of people off the hook just as they were starting to sweat, but what followed showed that we were never going to be allowed to get anything out of the game, even if we'd played till midnight. A completely futile and demoralising exercise.

Premier league will see the clubs crest on the letter head and throw it straight in the bin.

When will people relative we don’t matter one jot to the PL. The super league debacle showed that, everything possible was done to appease 6 teams who wanted to destroy football in this country (and largely have done anyway even before this). The powers that run the game aren’t arsed in the slightest of little old Everton feel they’re being unfair to them.

I am so still so aggrieved that the six clubs who tried to fundamentally destroy football in this country were allowed back in with open arms by the same clubs who they had effectively tried to assassinate.

That was football's one chance for a great schism, which already exists but at least if the Super League lot were allowed to leave and their return blocked then the two sports could have coexisted in some way. The way the Super League is barely even mentioned anymore, despite the fact you just know these same devils will be cooking up their next great scheme just tells you who owns football in this country and in Europe too.

And this isn't just toys out of the pram stuff because of the predicament we find ourselves in. If we finish bottom 3 then we absolutely deserve to be out of this league. However, I will take huge umbrage of the fact that a scab six club in Manchester City (who are absolutely monumental cheats both on and off the field), along with the rest of their devious pack, may contribute to putting us down.

I'm glad to hear this, but there's not much else we can do. The referee involved is due to take charge of another top flight match tomorrow night, so clearly the PL don't care about maintaining standards.
Mate we are right to make the complaint but the EPL/FA will just ignore us as usual.

I am not sure how to feel about the club making a complaint. What are they hoping to get from it? Even an apology does nothing for us. Officials can not show us favour going forward. Maybe it is a clever diversion tactic to distract from the performances which have not been good enough recently (before the Man City game). To ease pressure on the players. The best coaches do that. The Rodri handball was a bad decision, but have our performances got what they have deserved over the last 4-5 games? I think so. It would be difficult to say that referee decisions have cost us more than 1 point recently. Other teams probably could say that too. This recent decision has just been very high profile because it was against the champions.

no, the club and other clubs are bang right to challenge the favourable decisions that some clubs benefit from. It is only when the problem is tackled head on and accepted that there is a problem, that it can be dealt with. Ignoring it with a raised eyebrow and some severe tutting will maintain the status quo, nothing will change.

Moyes challenged the FA with 10 clearcut penalty decisions that went against us. We need to highlight all of these (as do the other non sly six clubs) to level up the problem. Human error is part of life, ineptitude at elite level and corruption are not acceptable.

I don’t think there is any real evidence of that.

VAR has got big things wrong for every club since it was brought in. It always will because it always ends with the subjective interpretation of a human being and humans will always make errors.
bad calls against the RS when they are 4-0 don't count the same and can be made to look as if everyone is badly treated by var. Was it clattenburg who, after denying us a clear penalty when carragher threw Lescott to the floor in the box, "you don't give them in front of the Top with a few minutes to go".

Corrupt or grossly inept some clubs benefit from scandalous decisions.

Corrupt grossly inept some ALL clubs benefit from scandalous decisions.

I agree that VAR makes bad decisions and is ran poorly but there have been some big, costly errors against all teams in recent seasons. It is more costly for teams at the bottom than teams like City, Liverpool and Chelsea who get lots of chances and will usually still win.

If teams like Burnley, Watford, Norwich, Newcastle and us for this season, get tight decisions overturned, they are usually more important (and cost points) because it is rare those teams have so many chances to score in a game.

have you seen the likes of salad and mane throwing themselves to the ground with minimal contact yet blatant handballs aren't awarded for us, If you think this is a largely level playing field you have been hoodwinked by the machine's propaganda arm

Yes they dive and exaggerate alot and I agree it is run poorly. I just do not think it is corrupt and there has been any bribery. It is more incapable than corrupt, I think.

The top teams have more chances in and around the box so will usually have the most penalties, the most interactions with VAR. The struggling teams have fewer chances in and around the box so will have the least interactions with VAR, but those interactions will likely be far more damaging to the end result because of their importance.
