Godfrey excellent today. Particularly enjoyed that roving run when he picked up the ball in his own half and dribbled through their whole midfield. Quality player and looking forward to him bossing it this season.

Happy for Dobbin to get a game, didn’t look too far off the pace either. Gray did well too.

I just really struggle to see us be able to achieve anything at all other than scraping mid-table unless we find a way to sort our squad out

That should have been done already though and it shouldn't involve losing our best players.

Brands has so much to answer for, and Benitez has a lot of work to do to prove he was the right man

If by some stretch of imagination we'd won today loads including myself would have said it's "only" a friendly.
I'm not kidding myself one bit, I'm dreading it when the serious business starts next week.
Never before has the need for supporters to give encouragement rather than jeers.

we really don't have a squad capable of anything other than midtable and thats down to all the money Brands, Walsh, and multiple managers have wasted over the years.

Leaves us with a bloated wage bill full of gash players no one wants so we have to wait out their contracts

Sounds like it was another crap show.

Glad I've gone into early retirement from watching that shower. I hope for Benitez, Brands and the boards sake he hits the ground running next week because if he doesn't, it'll turn nasty very very quickly.
