The suggestion from some seems to be that he isn't the level of player that we need to be bringing in....

Ok then - who exactly should we be bringing into the club who's at 'the level we need' whom we wouldn't have to break the bank for?

There are thousands of players across Europe and we really have to sign players off of sides that got relegated from our league? That's the only option?

You can obviously make the argument that league experience aka league proven matters, but yeah the club they came from doesn’t make a difference whatsoever. If anything, a player coming from a lower table club will be more hungry than someone from a successful one.

Ok you're actually right the lone exception is percentage of headers won. That does matter.

I really can't stand this 'relegated player' nonsense argument that's used as if it bares any relevance whatsoever...

There's been PLENTY of players over the years who've either played in relegated sides or sides in the lower levels who've turned out to be quality players in the Premier League, a good number of them for us even. One of them is currently regarded as our best player and 'England's No. 1' - Jordan Pickford.

Who should we sign from ?

No problem buying from lower clubs but players should be early to mid 20s with potential and sell off at profit in a few years that's why we have a recruitment team to scout players and get them at good price not in premier league too expensive there. All players bought recently can all be seen on match of the day doesn't say much for our recruitment team.i am sure is bargains in Europe, crystal palace are doing well in European market bought doucoure recently can see him doing well in premier league

I agree with you there is value to be found there but it isn't endless and we shop there a lot.

How does that apply to Cornet??

A lad with a good pedigree in two of the top divisions in Europe still a couple of years away from reaching the prime of his career. For under £20m, reasonable wages, and with a profile that we actively need more of in the squad.

How is he not potentially a very good acquisition??

well it’s because the numbers say so…. because Soccer ball is all about watching the matrix scrolling down a monitor rather than using your eyes, your brain and possessing a fundamental knowledge and understanding of what you are actually watching.… I wonder what Cornet scores for “take on’s”?. Can he “get on base?”…
