It seems to me that we have a very small transfer budget and are trying to negotiate deferred payment terms. Cornet is going to be the type of signing we can make, and it seems we can’t afford him at the moment.

Townsend and Gray’s goals kept us up last season. They are good squad players. Their contribution was massively better than say Gomes or JJK. We need 25 or 26/players who can contribute, it’s even more important with the five subs rule.

We don’t need squad players who can “do a job” we’ve moved on some of our most productive chance creators and goal threats from the starting 11 in the last two seasons - we need players who are good enough to go straight into the starting 11. Enough with people saying Dele, Townsend, Gray etc can do a job and decent squad options - we’ve got enough players who aren’t good enough to command a regular starting slot. This is why we’re getting worse, lose first team players and replace with squad fillers.

We’ve got no money. That affects who we can sign.

Nine goals in twenty odd games is better than most of our players put up though? He looks a threat too we lack threats. I do agree we need quality especially in forward areas, but we don't do the scouting and our budget isn't that big.

Personally feel it's down to balance in regards to say Dele, Gray, Gordon. We're massively disjointed to allow any of them off the leash to be actively creative IMO.

We need another CF to back Dom up but we also need an anchor in midfield desperately to allow the 3 mentioned to create.

If we get that and they don't perform, them I'd be inclined to throw them in the bin. But I've seen spells of all 3 to say if the team has a balance, they'll work well
 
The You Tube videos suggest he’s capable of blammos when given sight of goal, but if you compare him to Richarlison, the latter often had to make his own chances. Haven’t seen any evidence of Cornet doing that in the last season video. Looks like he can take a decent corner, so that could be useful but who’s going to get us far enough up the pitch to win those corners? And beyond those corners, that’s him done for assists. Think we need a couple of decent midfielders who can drive us up the pitch if this particular player is going to be any good for us. The Wolves fella might help? I have every faith that our recruitment team can sort it all out…
