Townsend and Gray’s goals kept us up last season. They are good squad players. Their contribution was massively better than say Gomes or JJK. We need 25 or 26/players who can contribute, it’s even more important with the five subs rule.

I think the fact we have sold our best player and top goal scorer from last season means that without adequate replacement/replacements we would face an extremely testing season.

With a bit of luck, England's backup No9 might get into double figures this season!!!... (in goals would be nice, but let's start with games not out injured for and go from there).
 

He's a good player (better than Traore definitely) but how are we going to use him? As a wide forward or wing-back? Left or right? Automatic starter or just a squad option?

£17.5m isn't a huge fee and we definitely need more left-footers for balance but why do I get the sense we're only in for him because other targets haven't worked out? We could have had him weeks ago with that release clause.

Everton have agreed personal terms with Maxwel Cornet ahead of a move to Goodison Park, but they’re yet to agree a fee with Burnley according to Fraser Fletcher.

The Toffees are keen to wrap up the signing of the Ivory Coast international and are set to pay his £17.5m release clause [Foot Mercato, July 15] following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship last season.

It's just amazing, we put out an XI yesterday with zero players capable of passing the ball and we're going to spend the precious little we do have on another player who can't pass.

He might be decent despite that, Richarlison obviously was, but just silly that we seem determined to not fix this problem.
