Cause spending £17m on a young attacker from the Championship is less risky than spending it on a player who did well in the PL for a year and has played in the CL, Ligue 1 etc?

Also might be due to downpayments etc. If Bobble was to be believed about a month back, he said the initial offer we put in for KLP was very low down payment wise. Maybe Burnley are in a position where they need to accept a low fee up front and Hull weren't?

Question though, why spend limited resources on a player who plays the sane position as both Gordon and Grays best position already and where Dele is also comfortable playing?

Seems a bit, well odd really, yes he can cover for Mykolenko but essentially your paying 17m fir a backup left back very average backup striker who can only play in a 2, and a winger who'd displace Gordon from his best position and provides arguably less threat than Gray.

Whilst 17.5mil is by no means the end of the world, it proper grates me how we seemingly refuse to look to the continent for these players, rather than paying a massive markup once they’ve already made a move to a pl club.

Would usually agree, if we hadn’t signed players from PL clubs for big money who have gone on to flop with us.

Much more palatable when you’ve spent 10m rather than 25-40m

His ability to play LWB is certainly a plus, but I dont see him playing there much if signed, depends on how Myko kicks on I suppose, but could be an option in games we need to go at teams.

It's about signing a player with an impressive goal tally and not stopping to ask if it's likely to happen again and if not what you're actually getting

I don't think Dele has ever played on the left?

But yes I agree, I would rather us go for someone who prefers playing on the right than the left side.

That being said, KLP also plays on the left.

I wouldn't say Cornet provides less threat than Gray, mind. Maybe as he's left footed, they'd want him to play right side cutting in?

He's not such a risk at 17-18m, getting anyone who's played a season in the Prem with some goals and assists for 10m is pretty difficult these days.
