Mayor's Bramley Moore Dock Open Letter To Evertonians

Not on this. It's too important.

If the Mayor and Architect are so confident, rather than insult the fan base with buzzwords, give some detail as to how this isn't a compromise.

I don't trust Joe Anderson. I don't trust Dan Meis. Why should I? I don't think any Everton fan should trust them to be a custodian of this football club.
And the questions will all be answered once fan consultation etc has ended, people want these things but then expect all the answeres and images right away

Birmingham iirc.

And iirc, they are miles ahead o Liverpool in terms of bid teams and that. Think they have the team that got the London olympics.

Any other foreign cities at all?

I know who i'd pick if the choice was Liverpool of bloody Birmingham!

Without doubt on the latter point and a massive positive in that regards.

We should be compensated though, because we are renting our home out for commercial benefit of a third party. To do so for free would be awful negotiating from our club.

Imagine if someone found oil in your back garden. Would you rent your house out to them for 2 weeks, allow them to make huge revenue off the back of it, and not insist on some sharing of the rewards? Over and beyond the cosmetic changes they'd have to do to your garden? I will be very interested to know how much we will be compensated in being the key enabler of these games.
Am sure I read somewhere when the stadium was first announced that we would receive some sort of fee for use during other events

Would an architect include an Etihad type lower tier seating rake for a stadium based on an application to host the athletics for 2 weeks in 5 years time?

I doubt it personally

Depends on the leverage of the athletics to that architect's client. That's why I've asked a few times what is the benefit to Everton of playing game to host/plan around these games.

It's a headache to the club, even if this at the least;

How's the design and planning gonna work in this current uncertainty? Decision on the host of CWG not due to be made until the end of the year.

Will we have to have 2 designs running simultaneously, in the event that Liverpool does/doesn't get the nod?

Surely this adds uncertainty to design, timings, costings etc.

What do Everton get in return?

Everton get publicity, exposure, it will allow us to gain more sponsorship.

But you keep mentioning compromise, ive yet to see any.

I'm guessing we've already had it. The council approval of the SPV.

Have you been to Hampden mate?

I was there for the Commonwealth games - it represents every concern I have over Everton's new stadium;

Absolutely, it's the areas behind the goals that are the big worry to me. No matter how high the track is placed in the stands the seats behind the goals will have to be a long way back. There will be no Gwladys Street, Park End equivalents where the front row is 6 feet behind the goalie telling him how fat he is.
