Mayor's Bramley Moore Dock Open Letter To Evertonians

So, a positive from the letter, if it hasn't already been picked up on. We will be in the stadium for the 2021/22 season. Goodison will not be being demolished as many other's have. It will continue to be creating firsts after we have left. First purpose built football stadium to host a commonwealth boxing tournament. Quite nice to add to the the list, and allows Goodison and all its intricacies to be experienced by a whole truck load of new people who normally would never have the reason to.

If they were clever about it, they could build a temporary wall through the middle and host two sets or tournamnents at the same time. Judo etc at the park end and boxing at the Gwladys.

He's American not Australian Dave, America isn't the other side of the world unless your living in the middle of the Indian ocean

As for the architect he designed one of American football's most iconic stadiums, hardly an unknown chancer lol
...so you're happy with him then. No room for caution.

Great.

Since I'm not privy to its popularity, do people like and watch the Commonwealth Games? Seems to me from what I've heard of it that it's like Olympic trials but, no offense to anyone, less important.

Not really mate. Watch them that is.

In the league table of medals, a Commonwealth one is (way) below an Olympic, World, or European one.

More of an ego trip for a host City in reality. Most Games have been held in actual Commonwealth Cities, well, not England, to bring the Commonwealth together as opposed to England/UK lording it over the rest.

In other words, hardly anyone would care if they were never held again. Not in the UK anyrate.

We'll see them when their ready to present them. Calm down , put the pitchfork back in the shed , blow out the flaming torch. Settle down with a good book (I recommend Moby [Poor language removed] by Herman Melville if you haven't already read it), and concentrate on welcoming the imminent arrival of Sandro Ramirez to our great club. It's the weekend, relax. ;)
Says it all right there. The serf mentality that's served us so well.

Cap in hand gets kick in teeth.

Obviously, Joe Anderson has seen the plans after coming out with that statement.
The plans are there behind the scenes. Only we dont get to see them. How dos that work exactly?

I've been banging on here about more info and more progress for months. It gets laughed at. Well some might want to let this lot do what they want without accounting for their plans until the last second but many others dont.

Time to set up the free republic of Scouseland!!

Listening to The BlueRoom the other day that Dave Donnie said he knew people who had seen the stadium designs and that they were really really impressed by them. Was he lying? I don't know, but is the theory that this is still being designed or is it designed and other issues are holding up the release.

Also, does anyone know the anticipated construction time? When did Spurs put a 'spade in the ground'?

Summer/Autumn 2015.

I am not going to get unduly worried by this.

First up, I have total faith in the BMD project and do not believe our current owner would allow an Olympic Stadium style fiasco a la Hammers happen to Everton.

I believe stadium design will be built to incorporate a temporary athletics track with no detriment to football in the future rather than be built as an athletics stadium being used for football afterwards.

Especially as there is no guarantee the city of Liverpool will actually win the race to host the games.

If it happens, then what a splendid showcase for our new stadium as the events are beamed all around the globe.

And lastly, I have had this niggling feeling that if a new stadium was built to facilitate the Commonwealth Games and we already had started or completed work on BMD, Big Stand FC would have been given the stadium afterwards, just like City or charged a nominal rent to use it, like Hammers.

We co-operate with the Council re BMD then we ensure the RS remain in the ha'penny place we vacated when Victoria was on the throne.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know when the venue of the 2022 Commonwealth Games is to be announced?

Yup I've been kicked in the teeth many times, but I've dealt out a few too, so no complaints from me. Seriously though how can they show us the plans before they've completed them. ? We can't actually fume until we have something to fume about. Mate, I'm an old skinhead, and a committed Socialist to boot , I can do anger dead good I can assure you. But age and experience have taught me that getting angry before you're fully informed can leave you looking extremely foolish.
