@Moomin
The top vault is bang on? No?

Someone has told him lies.

He has believed them. Passed them on and had the audicity to call me a bully and a liar.

Ive said from the off, running track on the design is not an issue and if the city is bidding it will be at our new ground. Brummies will win, they have the 2012 team behind them and the backing of regional councils in the midlands.

No, you're right. I'm just a lowly serf like you. I'm very sorry for wanting to rise above my station and ask impudent questions. Please dont inform the boss man.

There you go again when someone asks you a legitimate question you become a smart arse with a disparaging comment to boot.

You have every right to be a gobby negative soul.

The thing is you have no clue about the inner workings nor do you have access to it. As if you did you wouldn't be on here complaining to the rest of us instead right?

So instead of giving the man a douche answer how about you answer him?

I hate ITK posts as much as the next man, but I've been told by a really reliable source that our new stadium will have a capacity of 65,000, in order to enable us to compete with the likes of Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs.

That takes the sting out of the tail of this latest news.

His point is that the track has to be so big to work, so naturally the stadium has to fit the whole 800m thing.

So it's simply a matter of space. If an 800m track can fit inside Goodison, whether temporary or not, that means we're cutting corners in terms of atmosphere and proximity to do it.

In short, I'm calling BS on that 'open letter'.

I have never seen an 800m running track in my life.

But I do like a bit of hyperbole.

There was always going to be a catch. No wonder the council supported it, and this is probably the clause the club had to agree too.

Have they not learnt the West Ham lesson? Why can't we do this alone. A running track for the sake of a one week event which would simply ruin the atmosphere

You can't just build a stadium and then ''drop'' an athletics track in. It would not fit

The only way would be to build the stadium with stands far away from the pitch so as to fit it in. Which id be against

Using tracks and modern technology many stadiums are able to move playing surfaces and parts of the seating areas move forward and back. There are plenty of stadiums that do that here in the US. So i am sure they can adopt something for a track. If you look a few pages back here also someone posted a mockup of what i believe to be the new hampden park which shows exactly that.

However the actual architect assures us he can. At this juncture I'll go with his opinion I think.

They've basically said that isn't happening though.
