The Etihad was the COMS before The Etihad.

And

Vodafone is closing in on a multi-million pound deal to rename West Ham's football ground, The Telegraph can reveal.

The telecoms giant is in advanced talks with the owners of the former Olympic Stadium in East London with a six-year agreement possible this month, according to multiple sources.

A deal is not yet certain but if final negotiations progress smoothly, it is understood the 60,000-seater venue currently known as London Stadium will be named after Vodafone from the start of the next football season.

The naming rights have been put up for sale by the London E20 Stadium, the company set up to manage the site by its owners, the London Legacy Development Corporation and Newham Council.

Sake, why waste money sponsoring that team in that stadium? Sell dildos, get a major sponsor.

new design of which stadium?

Trust me go back about 10 pages. Someone uploaded pictures of a proposed vision, for what would be i guess the new hampden park (well someone mentioned it was hampden) with the idea on how to solve the track issue.

It was a pic of the track and without the track and the seats were closer.

Anyway regardless my point was there is technical advances that allows stadiums to adjust their capacity using rail tracks and gears and automation etc...

Just look at some of the NFL stadiums in the US they can move their pitches and change the layout easily.

I just can't see it mate.

If it happens the backlash would be too much. It's a football stadium. I honestly have no idea how they would fit a track in it but it doesn't worry me.

Go tell that to a West Ham fan. We're being fed spin and you're falling for it hook, line and sinker.

I haven't read all the thread but did anyone pick up on the suggestion that they're gonna be using Goodison for the boxing?

Seems like the "Old Lady" is still gonna be standing once we move.

At the end of the day, the new stadium will be just as loud and intimidating as Goodison. More people will mean more noise.

This is actually a great time for the club to designate a safe standing section as well- similar to what Dortmund have. An entire side of the stadium dedicated just to standing would do loads for the atmosphere:

It shouldn't come as a surprise, in the document released around the time of the funding proposal they had a paragraph stating they planned to keep Goodison.

I doubt it will stay "as is" with the towering main stand but the fact we wil maintain a strong presence in Walton is fantastic.

That shower use underhand tactics to buy up and demolish around Anfield, we strengthen our EITC commitment.

Was all going so well till they mentioned this. There is not one stadium in the world that wouldn't be compromised by sticking a bleeding running track in it, temporary or not. Who even likes athletics? Send them all to Sefton park, they can run and jump to their hearts content then.
