read this:
Niang has never scored more than 5 goals in a season, and while on loan at Watford, he scored 0.1 open-play goals per 90 minutes. He averaged 3.4 unsuccessful dribbles per 90, while only shooting from inside the penalty area 0.9 times a game with the Hornets.
By all accounts, M’baye Niang has bucketfuls of talent, but has yet to put it all together. Everton cannot afford to simultaneously be ambitious domestically and in Europe while splashing the cash on what looks incredibly likely to be a high-profile bust in the vein of Oumar Niasse (who the Blues already own, by the way).
Frankly, M’Baye Niang is bad at football. Everton just rid themselves of Darron Gibson and Arouna Kone. Contrary to appearances, there’s no bad footballer quota. Everton would do well to run away from this deal as fast as possible.

some of that is pure stats and it don't raise my pulseI'd hazard a guess the author hasn't seen him play even once for a full game. I know what I've seen of him from watching numerous games, the reasons for which I outlined in the transfer rumour thread, if have him here in a heartbeat.

It is an odd one but its impossible to judge until we see him play for us.
Walsh signing - unfulfilled potential, could be reached, young and high profile enough to sell on at not much of a loss if not.
