Niang pledged his international allegiance to Senegal in 2011, despite having represented France at various levels.
“I’m 16 and I’m happy with how I ended the season, but I need to acquire more experience. Playing international football will help me to hone my skills,” Niang told Sky Sports on Monday.
“I have decided to play for Senegal because France never really gave me a chance. I consider myself to be French but I’m happy to play for my ancestral land,” he said.
