Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I love dogs too mate. Film wise, I tend to well up with family related stuff.

I remember watching a film called Lion on Netflix (don't think it's on there any more) about an Indian boy who gets separated from his family aged about 5. It's a true story and he tracks them down as a grown up. When he finally met up with his mum and sister after all those years, and knowing it's true, I was in bits.

They also showed photos of the real life people at the end, too. That set me off again.
Wow, Mate i think you cried about the Jungle Book its a cartoon, and not real the talking animals give that away. lol

It's funny that we are both touched by relegation deciders. I was 12 in 94 and 16 in 98 so my understanding was different. Also because I'm not from the area and it wasn't live I wasn't quite as emotionally involved. It was just score flashes. Also in that 4 years football grew massively so it was everywhere. I hope none of us ever have to go through that again. Neither of them teams were horrendous there was just a deep rot in the club. 98 the problem was Howard could never settle on a team or system and he had journey men in amongst decent players. Also a very bad injury list. It was a shame that my main memory of him is that season as I am too young to remember spell 1. I often wonder what would have happened if he had bought Hutchison at the start of that season as I think him and Speed would have been an excellent partnership. He also let Unsworth go and I know he was much derided on here but I think him and Bilic would have worked well together. I will always be grateful that goal line technology didn't exist in them days.
Good morning mate, great to hear from you again , hopefully you're feeling stronger now.Youre an inspiration. Good morning too fellow blues

Hi if you are a regular visitor to this thread can you like it please. I just want to see who has been looking. Don't worry if you are shy and don't want to I just have too much time on my hands. I can't tell you how much all the kind words have meant to me over the last few months. When you see all the bad things that go on its refreshing that a bunch of people that have never met me have tried so hard to keep me going. Whatever will be will be but if I ever needed a reason to keep fighting you have given me one.

My best memory is oddly staying up in 1998. We were a mess and might never have got back. Whenever I watch highlights of that match I get a tingle in my spine. Another game that brings tingles to my spine home game against United in 2005 when Ferguson scored. I could feel that stadium rocking and I wasn't even there. I'll try and think of some more and post them in a bit.
Great to see you posting mate .

In 2005 that game was the last one I ever went to with my dad so I’ll never ever forget it , like you say incredible atmosphere.

I remember in the 97/98 decider, Barmby missed a penalty about 5 mins from time that would have put us two up and it would have been game over. Coventry then equalised, which made the last couple of minutes very nerve-racking. So Everton.

As you said, a good job goal line technology didn't exist back then. Bolton had a goal wrongly disallowed against us earlier that season, as the ball had crossed the goal line. They went down instead of us on goal difference and, at the time, I worked with a Bolton fan. He moaned about it for ages afterwards. Chuckle. Fine margins.

Good morning mate. My brain decided I should wake just after 4, the idiot! I'm going to try and get back into the sleep realm soon.

Totally agree about Springsteen. Awesome. As storytellers go though, how about Squeeze or The Kinks? Up The Junction is definitely in my top 10 favourite songs.
I saw the Kinks live a few times in the early days along with many other groups ( where did this band come from? ) of the time ,Small faces Beach boys and almost every one hit wonder used to come to Southport Floral hall on Saturdays .I also saw so many soul and motown stars in Liverpool .Now it is all Finnish music ! an old friend who played in one of the well known Liverpool groups from the sixties said when he heard Finnish music that he thought they were singing the words backwards .
