Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I don’t mind at all and thanks for asking. As I’ve said, she’s physically fine and happy, but she has this constant repetitive wish to go out for a drive, constantly putting her coat on, then me having to explain that having just got back from a drive we are not going straight back out. Then rinse and repeat every couple of minutes until we go out again. It’s tiring but this is now our life…..
Please always remember that it is not her fault .I don't envy you but I certainly admire you for the strength you have dealing with this sad sad illness.Stay strong that man.

Good morning all on this beautiful day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had a good night and have a fine day today .I personally am sleeping like a baby ,it shows what a win can do.
How is this for reasoning ,it was -2° yesterday when we parked in the shopping mall ,it holds 400 cars and when we went out it was still -2° so how do cars cause global warming ?

I have mentioned that we get up ,take our tablets ,have a cuppa then go backto bed to solve the worlds problems and plan the day or next weekends menu .We also ask how each other are and so on .Well today I asked how my wife had slept and she said "tight" .We say "Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite" but to say you have slept tight is weird .Perhaps the grammatical amongst us can explain .

Morning everybody. Welcome back @jazzy . Pleased you had a lovely time and also managed to see the Arsenal game.
How good would a win be in our next one? ?
Slightly stressed this morning. The farmer who has the land behind us has decided to have a bonfire - right behind our back fence. I'm watching the flames from my office (aka son's old bedroom) that are higher than our fence. One stray spark and the whole lot could go up. There's ivy on the fence, our shed and a couple of trees down there. He's got about 17 fields he could use so why he picks that spot I have no idea.
In other, less stressful news yesterday he turned his horses out into one of the fields for a while. I haven't seen them for months. Good sign that spring is coming.
Have a lovely day everyone x

No idea but while we’re on the subject why do we also say “sit tight”?

I was going to write our answers to these but honestly I feel like a bit of a belter doing it .

I just think they mean exactly what they say , there are theories about sleep tight that have since revealed to be myths . I honestly just think they mean what they seem. Sleeping tightly just means to sleep well and I believe someone sitting tightly would be hard to move , therefore sort of just remain there and don’t move til you’re needed .

My mum lost all track of time. She lived with my brother and I visited every day. I was also responsible for her personal care. She would demand we got the tea ready even though she had eaten her dinner barely an hour before, nothing would convince her so the table was set for tea. On the plus side the sheer pleasure she had every she saw the sunset over the trees at the bottom of the garden was a joy to behold, for her she was experiencing it for the first time. Best wishes to you and Mrs Pete.?

Thanks, I’ve got lots of people now giving me their experiences with Alzheimer’s patients, mums, dads etc, and it’s been really useful. Not all are the same but the more I can learn aids us in dealing with this horrible disease. Thank you for sharing…….

My heart goes out to you and Mrs P. Such a challenging illness. I hope you have more patience than me.

I‘m not really known for my patience tbh, and it’s been somewhat difficult which is why I say we have been learning as we go. Within the space of a year life has changed completely for my family as we learn to adapt, but also for my wife who used to enjoy life, reading and travelling which she no longer does. As I say, she seems happy and well and as long as that continues then we can live with that…we just have to adjust to the new realities…

Sorry for burdening you all with this btw, but I do find it helpful…..
