Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I‘m not really known for my patience tbh, and it’s been somewhat difficult which is why I say we have been learning as we go. Within the space of a year life has changed completely for my family as we learn to adapt, but also for my wife who used to enjoy life, reading and travelling which she no longer does. As I say, she seems happy and well and as long as that continues then we can live with that…we just have to adjust to the new realities…

Sorry for burdening you all with this btw, but I do find it helpful…..
You aren’t burdening anyone with it at all mate.

If it helps to get things off your chest, there are always people here to listen and support you.

Thanks, I have two escape/relax mechanisms, one is taking my wife to the pub in the evening before she wants to come home, the other is being in here. I’d probably be lost without either……

It must be a horrible thing for you both to be going through mate. Have you got family who are able to be around you both?

Couple of kids are based in Saudi and USA, wider family in Liverpool while we are in Midlands. I’m very lucky though in that I have one son living with us who is an absolute rock in terms of support. He and I can take turns throughout a few days in the week in turns of trips out for her, visits to shops, dog walking or whatever, but of course he also has his own business to run and look after so there is a limit. But tbh we are doing ok…..

You and others who come on here sharing is exactly what this thread is about ,it not about the weather or holiday pics but about caring and understanding. Your difficulties will never be a problem on here . We all treat it like a coffee shop as a disguise for the real reason we visit.

Good morning all on this drizzly day here in Hyvinkää. I hope all slept well and have a brilliant day . It is nice to hear Atsu is on the mend ,crazy how he has ended up in Turkey . Nothing much happening on the free transfer front and i am not sure Isco is Sean's type of player .
We watched a feel good film last night called " The Bank of Dave " and guess who was in it ? Sean Dyche ,a trueish story that is incredible and he would be welcome on here I think, Dave that is !

That’s good mate. People don’t realise how hard it is for carers in your situation, and you need a break from time to time.

I can 100% relate to this Pete.

It can be hard at times Pete but this is exactly the attitude to have. Once you have accepted this life becomes a lot easier. Trust me. You still have the memories.

Another beautiful morning down here in Cornwall. Most of the county dipped below freezing last night but once again I woke to another frost and fog free panorama. Probably sounding like a broken record now but it really is a little micro climate where I live and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to call it home.

Michelle (the neighbour) popped in unexpectedly last night. She wanted to sort out arrangements for my coming birthday and suggested a trip to Penzance where there is a lovely (and flat) promenade with great views of Mounts Bay, and then on to The Old Coastguard restaurant in nearby Mousehole. It's been an old haunt of ours over the years so she's either psychic or I've mentioned it in the past and she has a very good memory. Anyway I'm really looking forward to it and just hope the fine weather holds out. If the tide is right we may get a chance to visit St Michaels Mount too. ;)
