Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

That’s a shame about the hosepipe ban. Certainly the reservoirs were run down last summer (we still didn’t have a ban) but they have pretty well fully recovered. Does this happen a lot down there Fred……
Not really. It normally rains a lot but we had a dry winter followed by a dry summer.

Ironic thing is that there's loads of water down here and most of the lakes are full. But most of the domestic supply comes from one lake and that's only 50% full at the moment. It was down to about 15% in the autumn.

I started love/hate again after suggesting it to you and got someone else watching it , she’s absolutely loved it .

I haven’t seen andor

Just rewatched all five series of Love / Hate.

It’s up there with Top Boy and Gomorrah, as being one of the best drug gang crime dramas of all time.

How it never got air time over here is beyond me.

Just like Top Boy and Gomorra, each series gets better and better, as the plots expand and develop and also they’re able to kill central characters off, without it affecting the quality in anyway.

Couldn’t agree more , everyone I’ve recommended it to loves it . I love a drama that will kill off characters as it adds jeopardy . I think it’s particularly popular with scousers as , as we’ve said , it’s easy to imagine it being here .

Do you know what I’ve never watched gomorra , I must have started that first episode about 5 times and never got passed it . Everyone tells me I’ve got to , perhaps this is my inspiration to start again .

100% watch Gomorrah mate, the two series are identical in the way they watch.

Particularly, the fact that every single character is scum, but you can’t help but like them, despite all of the evil stuff they do - Nij, Darren and Fran spring to mind in Love / Hate.

I will definitely .

The journey with those characters is mad as at various stages I managed to love/hate them .

Hi Folks. I am fully in the doghouse. I forgot it was Pancake Day. Since son moved out it hasn't had as much importance. He loves pancakes and reminded me for weeks about it. Daughter was never fussed. She prefers her batter in the form of Yorkshire puddings. So M r F is now alternately sulking or when I say I'll make some later he's saying he was 'never really a fan of pancakes' I'll have to earn some points back on the wife-o-meter!

Was able to work today, one or two slight glitches but mostly our IT behaved itself.

Well of to the hospital this morning to have the permanent grin taken off my face .
I couldn't believe it when I watched last night's highlights ,oh how sweet don't watch Klopp but I might see what his reaction was .
Anyway good morning all on the bright and sunny day ( although it is actually dark outside ) ,I hope all slept well and have a great day today . @Gwladysover I understand but hare stew is a thing to behold ,we do have to cull as there are so many eating the crops ,not by me though .COYB

Good morning everybody. I think we can safely say that Don Carlo is still an Evertonian. I can almost forgive him leaving us if he hands Klopp nights like that every now and again.

It's gone a bit chilly here today, starting to get windy again. However my 6.30am trips to take Mr F to work are coinciding with some utterly glorious sunrises. Unfortunately I've got nowhere to stop on the journey to take pics otherwise I would share them with you.

Today is Ash Wednesday. This is the day that always makes me think of my late Mum. She would ring me on this day every year, chat for a while and then ask 'What are you having for tea tonight?' God forbid that I should ever have mentioned a meat product!! 🤣 However some things are so ingrained in your psyche that I still feel that I might be struck by lightning should I eat meat on Ash Wednesday. So tonight's tea is salmon risotto.

I'm meeting up with one of my workmates for a coffee ( and probably cake) soon. Looking forward to it. There's a lovely little tea shop in Sedgefield that we go to. Sedgefield is really nice and well worth a visit if you ever pass by this way - a proper village, loads of old fashioned pubs including The Dun Cow where Tony Blair took George W Bush for lunch. One of my then workmates took the day off to be there when that happened. He grew up in Sedgefield and said that whoever would have thought that a US President and a British Prime Minister would have lunch in the village in the north east of England where he came from. he wanted to be part of a historic day. Nice pub but also frequented by the South Durham Hunt so I prefer not to spend my money there.

Have a lovely day all. x
