Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning everybody. I think we can safely say that Don Carlo is still an Evertonian. I can almost forgive him leaving us if he hands Klopp nights like that every now and again.

It's gone a bit chilly here today, starting to get windy again. However my 6.30am trips to take Mr F to work are coinciding with some utterly glorious sunrises. Unfortunately I've got nowhere to stop on the journey to take pics otherwise I would share them with you.

Today is Ash Wednesday. This is the day that always makes me think of my late Mum. She would ring me on this day every year, chat for a while and then ask 'What are you having for tea tonight?' God forbid that I should ever have mentioned a meat product!! 🤣 However some things are so ingrained in your psyche that I still feel that I might be struck by lightning should I eat meat on Ash Wednesday. So tonight's tea is salmon risotto.

I'm meeting up with one of my workmates for a coffee ( and probably cake) soon. Looking forward to it. There's a lovely little tea shop in Sedgefield that we go to. Sedgefield is really nice and well worth a visit if you ever pass by this way - a proper village, loads of old fashioned pubs including The Dun Cow where Tony Blair took George W Bush for lunch. One of my then workmates took the day off to be there when that happened. He grew up in Sedgefield and said that whoever would have thought that a US President and a British Prime Minister would have lunch in the village in the north east of England where he came from. he wanted to be part of a historic day. Nice pub but also frequented by the South Durham Hunt so I prefer not to spend my money there.

Have a lovely day all. x
I'm just checking that everyone did have a lovely day. I mean those records that were beaten last night... Put a bit of spring in my step anyway 😁

Good morning all on this fine day here in Finland ,no success yesterday at the hospital the smile is still from ear to ear . I hope all had a good night and have a splendid day today . Looking forward to the game for some strange reason ,change that how can there be a reason ? It was nice to see the post from @Terrarian who sounded bouyant despite Daisy rolling in doodoo :D

Morning Blue, thank you, I am doing a bit better at the minute actually and yes I had to wash daisy's harness because she rolled in dirt. She's started eating the bird poo again the dirty bugger lol

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi everyone. Just to introduce myself... Long time lurker on the forum, only lurking in this thread since yesterday on @anjelikaferrett 's recommendation. Southern softy living in Essex with my wife, two teenagers who largely ignore me and a black Labrador called Tilly who loves me because I feed her! Love the spirit and community feel of this thread. Looking forward to 3 points against the Villa. 💙

@Barnfred 55 will tell you I’m fond of a gif lol , so here’s one just for you.

Welcome to our virtual coffee shop, @Rich B anything goes but we don't do aggro in here, in respect of Karl (messymascot)
Thx @Terrarian . I spent yesterday evening reading the first 260 pages of the thread and felt very humbled by Karl. I find myself here due to my own health issues and the wonderful support of members on the mental health thread which pale into insignificance by comparison. But Karl's legacy in terms of the friendship of the Everton forum members had been hugely beneficial for me as I'm sure it has been for so many others. What a wonderful guy and what a wonderful community. Thanks for the welcome 💙

Morning all, cloudy and damp here. Loud thump outside our house last night, followed by an alarm, being a nosey git, decided to investigate. Turned out the van across the road was being robbed. Van door was forced, tools removed, carted off to a car which was parked outside our house, couldn’t have taken more than a minute. Van owner came out, just as the car sped off tooting and giving him a cheery wave.
Pleased to hear you are feeling better @Terrarian, long may it continue. Not much planned today other than a bit of shopping. I may track down some vegetables, you never know.lol
Have a good day, all.💙

Welcome Rich. You'll find this thread a little oasis in the maelstrom which is GOT.

Just one question. If you've only read the first 260 pages what have you been doing with your time since last night.? :p

In the sky last night we noticed two very bright "stars" near the moon it is reported in the news it was Jupiter and Venus .It was not a clear sky but I will be watching again tonight ,this is how lively it can get out in the countryside
I saw that, too! I knew one was Venus, but I meant to look up online about the other planet.

We had clear skies here and it was an awesome sight!
