Ha haEvening all. Regular viewers may recall that my eldest lad and his GF had chipped off to NZ for 2 years, maybe more, who knows.
Well, they have scratched their travel itch, and both start jobs in Wellington at KPMG next week.
In celebration, I have lit the log burner, and will enjoy steak, chips, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce later, on me knee watching Dragons Den. Possibly, (lol) with a spot of red. Had worse days like.
Oliver, (the lad) is horrified that he will have to wear a suit!
Ha ha
On your suit point many years ago My brother , who’s doing ridiculously well for himself these days , whilst enjoying his youth used to mock my dad for wearing a tie to work . When , like your lad , he eventually found himself dressed for his new job in suit and tie he was seen off by my dad with the phrase( cleaned up) “welcome to the ….heads “
Mate you must be so proud and rightly so , indulge in a little red with your steak after all it’s not everyday is it ?Oliver has always worked in the mysterious (to us) world of clicks and data and witchcraft. He once spent 30 mins explaining to me and me dad what he did. We were non the wiser. How he has blagged a gig at KPMG is beyond me! But it makes me happy, and not gonna lie, quite proud, that the two of them have.
Just sell any shares you may have in KPMG. As a precaution. He may be bright, and very presentable, but after its drilled down, he is still a Roydo.

Welcome Rich!Hi everyone. Just to introduce myself... Long time lurker on the forum, only lurking in this thread since yesterday on @anjelikaferrett 's recommendation. Southern softy living in Essex with my wife, two teenagers who largely ignore me and a black Labrador called Tilly who loves me because I feed her! Love the spirit and community feel of this thread. Looking forward to 3 points against the Villa.![]()
I could neither confirm nor deny it anyway mate.Hate to think what they teach people at law school AT![]()
the way plod go through social media these days and given the OUTRAGEOUS response to my statement regarding my honesty if I ever get in trouble again I reckon I’ll need you in full Perry Mason mode !I could neither confirm nor deny it anyway mate.
He doth protest too much methinks!the way plod go through social media these days and given the OUTRAGEOUS response to my statement regarding my honesty if I ever get in trouble again I reckon I’ll need you in full Perry Mason mode !
Ha ha. I've been called a patriarch, a cad and a raconteur all in the same day. That must be some sort of recordWelcome @Rich B . I understand that you are a fellow southerner although in my case I've lived in the North for twice as long as I lived in the South.
@Barnfred 55 the patriarch of this Wonderful thread has made the reverse journey to Cornwall.
On your recommendation Fred I watched the Rick Stein Cornwall programme and couldn't help but cringe at his pronunciation of Launceston! Good job a local put him right.
Sad old day with Motty passing.
Nailed it , I mean you can tell you’re a professional .He doth protest too much methinks!
Dickie is definitely a loss but Motty feels so personal , I said in his thread as toffeeTV said he was the voice of our success. The man will always epitomise Football commentary to me.Ha ha. I've been called a patriarch, a cad and a raconteur all in the same day. That must be some sort of record
I'm always getting laughed at for my pronunciation of place names down here. Keep on doing it though just to wind them up.
Very sad news about Motty and straight on the heels of Dickie Davies too.
