Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

That's lovely. My Dad is 84, lives in his own home, all his mental faculties intact and although he had a recent hospital stay generally is OK. He and my Mum were married for 57 years until Mum passed away. I often think if I get to his age I would absolutely take that.
It's a weird thought but I find that as I get older increasingly I think what age would I be happy getting to. A bit sad really.

Morning Messy, Fred (whispered) and everyone else.

@messymascot sending love and strength to you my inspirational mate. Hope the good will messages from all your friends on here offer you some comfort for what you're going through. You've clearly made lots of friends here.

@Barnfred 55 sounds like you're having a great time catching up with your mates. Just like old times, eh. Hope the hangover isn't too bad and you're raring to go again later.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I told you I have great imagination but @larbert toffee definitely has more clever creativity than me ;)

I hope your hangover is not too bad, Fred. My recommendation to you is to have lot of water and even some of that ox broth or soup.
The curry went down very well last night. They both enjoyed a few jars out at the local pub earlier. And I'm just about to do a brunch of sausage, bacon, eggs, black pudding and beans. That should sort out the bad heads. I'll then take them on a nice long walk to burn a few calories.

Sounds fab. Beer, curry and a full English. You're spoiling them. lol

You're quite the host, Fred. Curry, Cornish beer and a lovely fry up. What more could one ask for. I remember as a kid, in the days before anyone had heard of cholesterol, my mum used to ask if we wanted any extra fat from the pan poured onto our Sunday fry up. "Ooh, yes please Mum."

I was half expecting a chicken pun from you Fred, in response to this, but you're clearly still suffering with your hen-gover. ;)

Bit of a faux pas on the lunch culinary front today. I don't buy posh bread, I'm medium wholemeal all the time. Unless Tesco have some exotic breads in the reduced aisle. I bought a loaf of Tesco Finest Sourdough bread for 10p last week. Just about to use it to take my fish finger butties to a whole new level. Only now realised that the bread has got currants in it! I did not notice the word fruited in front of sourdough.Ah well fish fingers, mayo and currants.I'll let you know how that works out.....??

I love the Tesco Brown Sourdough loaf but sans currants.

How are you getting on with the French legal documents?

I used to be able to speak French really well ( forgotten most of it now ) and used to be a lawyer ( definately forgotten all of it now ) but if you think I could be of any help feel free to PM me .

Thank you. I'm ignoring the French legal documents for now. They can wait until after the end of the month and the usual panic about stats and figures!

Tesco Sourdough is awesome but also currant free.

Is it powered by electicity ? Ours is from earth warming .
Lucky you that you are getting all that heat free from the earth, maybe an underground volcano is indeed the reasoning lol I wish I had one under our house, during the cold season we spend between $300-400 warming up our house so it can get very expensive for my public servant salary. Good thing the hubby makes up for it.

Sass ,

My mum.has a wonderful life.

She has got to 94 and apart from being a bit deaf had no ailments.

10 years ago.she moved 300 miles from Plymouth in.the South West to come and live with us.

She has her own Granny annexe ( a garage which we converted - sounds terrible but it is actually about the size of a bungalow and much warmer due to proper insulation than our rambling old house.)

She gets to look after the dogs during the day and give them back when she's had enough!

Mind you none of this stops her complaining about anything and everything ??
Wouldn’t be nice if we could all have a wonderful life and get the opportunity to live to her age. Sounds like you have a great setting for her at your house. How lucky for your mom that Mrs. J was okay with you taking care of your mum. My hubby knows it will be the same with my mama. We are already thinking that within the next year or two she is going move with us so we will need to find a bigger house. I would love to find a place with a different entrance so she, and we, can have full privacy when needed. Just because like you mum, my mom never stops complaining not matter what ?

Sounds like the breakfast of champions. Maybe we should be sending you to get ready breakfast for the Blues before each match ;) Have you always enjoyed cooking? Btw, in Colombia we have something similar to your black pudding but according to an English poster, that lives in Colombia and has tried both, ours is more delicious. Maybe one day you will be lucky enough and get a taste, Fred lol

I hope you had a lovely walk with your friends. X
