Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hopefully a cruise from Barbados.
Going to St Vincent , Grenada , St Maarten , Tortola ,Grand Turks , Antigua and St Lucia.
Been before , last went 5 years ago.
Absolutely fabulous holiday.
We used to enjoy the Christmas cruise over to the Caribbean. It was a round trip from Southampton so werr away for about 28 days. Are you going with P&O? Brittania or Azura?. Been to all those places apart from St Vincent and they're all brilliant. Always did a Catamaran trip in Antigua which were great fun if you enjoy sea swimming and rum?

Deliberately avoided the Southampton departure.
I don't mind a occasional day at sea but a week would bore me stupid Fred.
We are on Azura.
Been on both Brittania and Azura and I much prefer the older ship.
Yes the only one we haven't been to is Grand Turks

Nothing better than a proper Cornish pasty.
Best I ever found was the bakery at St Mawes.
Does the ferry ru from Falmouth to St Maees in winter?
Might be a nice trip for your mates?
Funnily enough I was telling them about the ferry to St Mawes yesterday and the Pollizi Hotel there. We were in the Chain locker pub in the harbour by the ferry Quay. Yes it still runs in the winter weather permitting but it's a brace person who ventures out.

I've never tried those pasties. I'm taking them to Gear Farm on the Luzard that make our favourite pasties, then we'll probably drive down to Coverack to eat them.

Cal didn't fly so we had no choice. But we enjoyed sea days, especially if the weather was nice.

Grand Turk is good. There's a safe sandy beach 5 minutes walk from the boat where 20 US will get you a sunbed and a bucket of beers. Then pop over to the Margarita resort which do great cocktails and decent food. If you also enjoy young Americans in skimpy bathing suits generally making a show of themselves that's an added bonus. ?

Sounds like a plan Fred.

Morning @messymascot and the mascoteers I hope all have a great day today and I hope our team can surprise us and get a point at least -I must stay off the booze this early - It would be great to get a sign form you Karl that you are staying strong ,my heart goes out to you .
I wonder if @Barnfred 55 is sobre yet ? Nice to hear good times are being had by all .
Off to get the normal flu jab today and wanted to do some shopping as we don't get near there often now but Covid rates are through the roof here and deaths too are going crazy -for here .
Having a dickey heart and asthma makes me appetizing for the bug so ,just to the clinic and home is the order of the day .

Take care fella

You did see that I prefaced the post with "Hopefully " as in pandemic permitting!
That is the only reason I didn't report it ! I have been to a few places around the carribean and I loved every one of them ,I would have loved to visit Jamaica as I promised to go years ago ,well 55 to be exact when I had a friend from there but just never quite got there and now I don't think I will ever trust the planes enough to fly again so long distance . Saying that we have some friends from Mumbai and they want to meet us somewhere in India for a holiday when the pandemic is over .We will see .

If you get the chance to go to India , grab it.
It's the one place I love more than the Caribbean.
From Cochin in the south to Shimla in the North is is fascinating, interesting and eye opening.
I didn't really like the big cities like Mumbai and Delhi but all part of the crazy madness that sums up India.

I've got good memories of a family holiday as a kid touring Devon and Cornwall, one of my favourite photos is of my Ma and Da on the St Mawes-Falmouth ferry.
