Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Been to Mykonos ( many times ) and Naxos ( which I love but haven't been for ages). The other two are new to me. Ferry from Mykonos? How frequent and what were they like Val?
Two very different islands to be fair. Both small (much smaller than Naxos) and quiet and part of the Cyclades. Both on the same ferry route (sea Jet2 cat) from Mykonos which runs daily. There are other slower and cheaper ferry options - I book ours through the Ferryhopper app.
Koufonisia has one very small town and you can walk round the island in about 3/4 hours. Beautiful beaches but no sunbeds - very unspoilt. We went 5 years ago and saw a bit of a change this year but nice changes such as the town has got more nice places to eat and have a drink. It’s up there with my favourite Greek Islands.
Amorgos is my favourite and it’s like Greece 30 years ago. Again went here last 5 years ago and zero changes this year. It has a couple of resorts and a beautiful old town on top of the mountain via a bus trip not for the faint hearted. We stay in Katapola which is the main port. To get to the only small beach with sunbeds and a bar you get a little ferry for a couple of euros (5 minute journey). No hotels as such, just simple rooms - ours had a fab view of the port - just sitting on the balcony with a cold Mythos watching the ferries and boats coming and going is close to heaven for me. Took friends with us this year and I’m not sure they were impressed, so I worry about recommending these places if you like holidays in resorts with amenities and touristy stuff. If you like the finer things in life Amorgos is not for you. I’m more than happy to give you any more info if you want it or post photos if that helps 😊

Fab report thanks, they are going on my list.
Will let you know re Lesvos.
I'm sure Anj will tell us everything we need to know about Andros Syros etc , that is unless she meets DCL at the airport in which case it's a fair bet she will hop on whatever plane he's on.

Morning everyone,

No idea what the weather is going to do today. Rained overnight, sunny now but possibility of more rain. So, on the one hand I don't need to water the new tropical garden ( thanks to Fred for helping me finish it ) but on the other hand the grass needs a cut.

Looks like some transfer news from Goodison!
Willy Gnonto from Leeds. Yeah we already have a song for him when he doesn't sign. One for the older readers ( not you obviously @Val P ) but those of my vintage will surely remember Sweet in the early 70s "little Willy, Willy won't come home and you can't push Willy round , Willy won't come".
I do hope my memory isn't playing tricks otherwise I will look even more stupid than usual!

Have a lovely day everyone.

You flatter me - I was dancing at the school disco to that song 😂

Yes I bet she would too 😂. Believe it or not Iwobi and his entourage got on the same 3 hour delayed easyJet flight to Gatwick as we did. For some reason I was convinced he would get on a little private chartered one.

Last time we went to Naxos ( about 12 years ago ) we hopped to Paros and Anti Paros , loved both islands. Very quiet especially Anti Paros.
Highly recommended.

I feel my reputation is being tarnished here🤣🤣. Although if I did meet DCL in an airport I think I would pass-out!
I'm having a very fun day today. Tried to log in this morning only to discover my IT system has been disabled and I had no access. To make a long story short my line manager had not closed down my sickness absence from when Dad died so the system had shut me down because it still thinks I'm off sick. It is sorted now but, and here's the fun part, it takes 24 hours to re-instate me back online. Bonus day off!

I loved Sweet. Remember that song well. Not quite as good as Ballroom Blitz.

Morning all, cloudy and a bit breezy here. Sweet at the school disco!!! - you lot are mere babies, I was at work when that was in the charts. Mention of it brought back memories of my Dad though. Whenever Sweet came on TOTP and the camera focussed on Steve Priest,( I think he was the one with the makeup) he would declare “If that’s right, I don’t want to be”, lol
Have a good day, all.💙
P.S Enjoy your bonus day, @anjelikaferrett

Ha ha. That's reminds me of my old dad who saw Bowie on TV in the 70s "I'd willingly put a gun to his head " he said. How times and attitudes ( happily) change
