Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, cloudy and windy here again today, that’s the weather not Vindaloo @lancs blue lol. Nothing much planned for today so will be a Lazy Sunday, one for any Small Faces fans. I used to be in their fan club. Ronnie “Plonk” Lane was my favourite, taken too soon with MS as was one of my dearest friends . Sorry didn’t mean to start on a downer. Michael was one of the funniest and wittiest people I’ve ever met though and some of my best memories are playing three card brag and getting drunk on vodka and lime with him so I’ll concentrate on that.
Have a good day, all.💙

Thank you - No flack from me. I can see it’s imperfection. I have worked initially administratively, retrained and worked clinically, went into management, as in those days to advance my career it had to be via the management route - now they have all sorts of extended clinical roles which is great. So I have a pretty rounded view based on experience. I also, thanks to my husband’s health issues over the past 10 years, have what they now called lived experience. Not all good - in fact some seriously crap, but luckily for him I had the understanding of how to press the right buttons to make it better. My heart breaks when I read what others have had to go through - believe me.
i also agree with you about people who want something for nothing - not good. There are also layers of complexity about why that is so I am careful about making sweeping generalisations.
Have a good nights kip 😊
It is a delight to have someone who intimately knows a subject give us their insight . Thanks Val.

Thank you - you never know how these things will be received and I am nothing if not opinionated 😂
Oh opinionated people fit in well here. All of us have strong opinions on most things but fortunately we express them with some degree of respect for our chums on here who may not be of the same thinking ( Pete , who you will find out is blue in more ways than one . But notwithstanding his political allegiances is still a good egg).

We used to call NHS England the place where failed managers go to die - hope there’s none on here 🫢. It was a bit like football management- only so many who got recycled and popped up in different positions having “left” others.
Very interesting. It's a bit like law lecturers . They tend to be the ones who can't hack it in practice. Please don't ask what I did for 2 years when I retired lol

I used to play with my parents a lot culminating in the prince of card games cribbage .
My Dad taught us loads of card games. I think they spent a lot of their down time on the ships playing cards. Whist, poker, cribbage, rummy, the one with the Queen of Spades and all hearts as the bad guys - can never remember its name. I taught my kids all of them too. During lockdown we'd have poker nights using dried pasta pieces instead of money!
