Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

Tuesday today so that means Mrs J in the rescue shop and my weekly visit to the supermarket to do our and mum's big shop, Aldi this week.

Weather's a bit poo this morning so I will then toddle off to the gym and then enjoy a nice steam and sauna.

Should be able to get in the garden this afternoon.

Well I hope you all have a lovely day

We have scents that we put in the sauna water ,they are wood extracts of Birch Pine ,spruce and tar !

Morning all,
nice and sunny here with the threat of clouds coming in. Kennels day for me and then tonight it’s off to Bolton to watch the mighty blues (I used to say that with such conviction, now I’m being sarcastic). Its a long time since I’ve been to Boltons stadium. I see that striker we were allegedly interested in has gone to Atalanta. Plan B it is then, or C or whatever.
Have a great day

Morning all, back a bit early from our walk, Daisy didn't want to go very far today, not sure why but never mind.

Weather isn't great, it doesn't know if it wants to be sunny or rain today.

I bought some trainers last week, I needed some because the cheaper ones I bought for walking daisy had my big toe go through a couple of pairs, even after clipping my nails. I thought they were really nice my new ones but when I got home and looked at the receipt it said womens trainers.

However it's 2023 and I'm obviously woke because I'm wearing them anyway lol I think they're unisex at best. I have looked at them and looked at them and can't for the life of me see why they're womens lol sod it lol

have a good day peeps.

Embrace your feminine side🤣🤣

Good morning. We are waiting for son and girlfriend to arrive from Nottingham for part 1 of the 30th birthday celebrations. Drinks in Durham then out for a meal. Daughter is in bed after her night shift. She left fostering a year ago to work in a young offenders prison and spent last night in one of the local hospitals with a prisoner.
Have a lovely day all x

@jazzy I'm doing well, thanks for asking! I haven't started the job yet, but I have been clothes and shoe shopping! 👚👠 I have work outfits from before, but this is good excuse to buy more! lol Am I right?? @Gwladysover @anjelikaferrett @Val P

I also received another job opportunity! It's weird, I have had none forever then 2 pop-up within a week! This one is my backup plan just in case.
It's really, really hot here!! We've been under an Extreme Heat Warning for a week, which ends tomorrow with a chance of rain. I was out at the stable yesterday in my shorts and flipflops spraying my horse down with cold water. It was 44C.
Amazing really V. You live in Nevada where it hardly ever rains. I live in Cornwall where it rains all year round. yet I'm the one who's been living under a hosepipe ban for over 12 months.lol

Very interesting points Val.
I was probably the opposite.
Despite working my way up through the legal profession from office junior to telephonist to trainee legal executive to solicitor and eventually partner I never managed to master typing or acquire decent keyboard or IT skills.
In part this was a generational issue but in all honesty I never got to grips with it despite enrolling and paying myself for a touch typing course.
As a legal executive and solicitor I always had a secretary and as a partner a PA.
Towards the end of my career all solicitors were encouraged to do their own typing.
Increasingly secretaries were made redundant.
I disagreed. It was a shortsighted and backwards step. Not because solicitors shouldn't type but a trained secretary will be faster , more accurate and generally be error free.
It was absurd to expect senior solicitors working in my team on catastrophic injury claims where you will often have to produce a witness statement over 30 pages long to not only draft it but then type it .
Anyway it was all part of a move for "efficiency" which saw things done quicker and with less staff and which in reality meant a significant lowering of quality and standards and ultimately impacted upon the client
So , I saw the writing in the wall and got out before my own standards were compromised.
I suspect that what happened in the legal profession is mirrored in other areas.
Banking was the same mate. The powers that be thought it was a cost saving exercise, but all it meant was very highly paid managers were spending 60% of their time typing and correcting errors and 40% doing what they were getting paid for.

And typists/secretaries either left or were retrained to do jobs they didn't want to do.
