Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

When I lived there you were either brave , stupid or knew someone to go in the Eagle and Child! Tended to stick to the Blue Man or the Clock in Prescot .

The Eagle and Child was a posh pub compared to the Bluebell … used to go there after football and on a Friday. Even the men used to go to the toilets in pairs to make sure your got out without losing your leather jacket…tough pub, Ukraine is like a holiday in comparison…..

Talking about Huyton. Mrs J's dad was never out of the Conservative Club on Longview , behind Hathersage Road.

Before my time but when Harold Wilson was the MP they had placards in the garden and in the windows for him. The powers that be at the Conny Club complained and he told them to f.... off. Apparently they never raised it again lol

I delivered his election material around Longview as a kid…..had a wonderful chippy…..

Good morning all on this sunny day here in Finland.I hope all had a good night and have an even better day today . Sad about Sinead ,as said too many going young lately . I hope we have tied Warrington down to a new contract as he reminds me of the great Colin Harvey and that we be a sad sad mistake to lose him .COYB
I still remember my Granny’s outrage at Sinead O’Connor tearing up the Pope’s picture like it was yesterday. I think it was the first time I ever saw her angry. Only time maybe.

I was terrified of the walking stick she was brandishing like a sword as she ranted at the TV.

Morning all, cloudy here. Happy Norfolk Day! Although I’m Peterborough born and bred my Dad’s mother’s family are from Norfolk so I have a connection. They came from Overstrand, here’s a picture of the beach. Have a good day, all.💙

Happy Norfolk Day @Gwladysover thats a great beach! I have lovely memories of Norfolk going on holiday when I was a little girl. In those days we took two days to get there and used to stop overnight in a BandB in Grantham (I think). We stayed at a place called Walcott, and Winterton on Sea which I remember having the biggest waves. Also the Norfolk Broads - is it still as lovely and peaceful as I’ve always fancied going back.
