Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yeah. With hindsight it comes across as sexist. Sorry guys.

I'm pretty sure Sassy would take it as it was intended, a light-hearted compliment, but then again one should never make assumptions, especially on an internet forum.
Dear Fred, I indeed took it as a compliment. I agree that one should never make assumptions on the forum, but I also believe that some of us have bonded enough here to have a little bit of fun with one another without getting offended over comments :)

Good morning Messy, Fred and the gang, cold and damp up here today, bit later logging on today been on to Wirral social services this morning, my mum and dad are 86 and 82 respectively, my mum has mobility problems and my dad is her carer, however my Dad himself is getting more doddery and fell whilst putting her mobility scooter in the back of the car and has been in hospital all weekend.
They are proud people and have never asked for social assistance but I'm stuck up here in Scotland and the time has come for them to at least be assessed and hopefully get some assistance in some way shape or form.
I've been assured someone will call me back today we'll wait and see.
Anyway, matchday and the first of now massive games coming up, we desperately need a win to cheer everyone up, a good performance would be a bonus, unfortunately I'm working but will record it and watch it at just after 10.
You all have a good day, Messy, it would be really good to hear from you, that would cheer us all far more than a win.
@blue1948 be careful up on that roof, remember what happened to Rod Hull.
@Sassy Colombian good of you to offer for match updates again, there is no end to your amazing talents.
@larbert toffee I’m sorry to hear about your dad being at the hospital. I understand your concern because as our parents get old it becomes a worry making sure they are well taken care of. I hope you receive the call back so you can have some peace of mind about their condition.

And btw, you are too kind with your compliments. I really enjoy giving match update here for Messy. Maybe Fred is right and I’ve missed my real vocation in life lol

Sorry to hear about your Mum and Dad. It is difficult when you live so far away. When my Mum was terminally ill I was driving to Liverpool most weekends. Not as far as Scotland of course. I can see the time coming when I'll have to do the more for my Dad. Also I don't thinknit is fair that just because my brother still lives in Liverpool he has to deal with everything. Hope they get the right support put in place.
Agree about the match tonight. Could be a defining moment. We so need to win.

Sorry to hear that mate. Are your parents in Liverpool? Are there any brothers/sisters close to care for them both?

My parents are both well gone now, but I was lucky in this regard. I'm the youngest of 7 including 3 older sisters and it's very often (not always) the girls who tend to take over in these circumstances. It was the opposite with Cal's parents where Cal did the bulk of it.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you manage to sort out some suitable assistance from social services.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Whilst it can be very difficult for some people to ask for assistance they should look on it as their right and I hope that they can get some sort of care package in place. My late mother was becoming increasingly infirm during her late eighties and after an operation for a broken hip suffered from delirium, brought on by the anaesthetic, which never cleared. I live close by but caring for her was not easy although my two brothers helped I had to do all the personal stuff. It must be so hard for you living so far away. Hope you get things sorted, my best wishes to you all.?
Thank you all for your concern, I do have my brother there but he is limited in what he can do due to a form of depression that comes and goes, nonetheless we have made a pincer movement on Social services and we have got the ball rolling in regards to getting them on the system and hopefully they'll be assessed soon.
