Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning Messy, Fred and the gang, cold and damp up here today, bit later logging on today been on to Wirral social services this morning, my mum and dad are 86 and 82 respectively, my mum has mobility problems and my dad is her carer, however my Dad himself is getting more doddery and fell whilst putting her mobility scooter in the back of the car and has been in hospital all weekend.
They are proud people and have never asked for social assistance but I'm stuck up here in Scotland and the time has come for them to at least be assessed and hopefully get some assistance in some way shape or form.
I've been assured someone will call me back today we'll wait and see.
Anyway, matchday and the first of now massive games coming up, we desperately need a win to cheer everyone up, a good performance would be a bonus, unfortunately I'm working but will record it and watch it at just after 10.
You all have a good day, Messy, it would be really good to hear from you, that would cheer us all far more than a win.
@blue1948 be careful up on that roof, remember what happened to Rod Hull.
@Sassy Colombian good of you to offer for match updates again, there is no end to your amazing talents.
Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you manage to sort out some suitable assistance from social services.

Might just have been me but i thought his statement said without saying, i have tried to reason with these idiots and get them to listen to me over the last 3 years but they havent, having to now deal with Benetiz and listen to the owner banging on about injuries and the second half of the season, i just relaised i cant take anymore so im outta here, wish ye the best but i know ye are goosed.
Yep

Thanks ever so much guys.

Just got back , absolutely freezing but really successful.

Left Mrs J there (aged mum looking after our dogs and didn't want her to have them all day).

The food stall was rammed and I think all the cake, sandwiches , soup etc should go.

I'm sure GOT won't mind if I give the charity a bit of free publicity.

My wife and her sister set the charity up 30 years ago but when Mrs J had to have her 1st open heart op she gave up being a trustee.

She is fine now and voluntarily runs their charity shop in Formby and I help out occasionally.

The charity is Carla Lane Animals in Need. They have a Facebook page and their website is www.Ainimalsinneed.co.uk .

There is a donation button if anyone is so inclined. If anyone is generous enough to want to make a small donation me and Mrs J will be very grateful and the Animals will love you for it.

Thanks to everyone.
Donation now made Jazzy, well done again it's a tremendous thing you both do.

Someone sent me this, a bit of humour to start the week, no I don't mean watching us later......

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Whilst it can be very difficult for some people to ask for assistance they should look on it as their right and I hope that they can get some sort of care package in place. My late mother was becoming increasingly infirm during her late eighties and after an operation for a broken hip suffered from delirium, brought on by the anaesthetic, which never cleared. I live close by but caring for her was not easy although my two brothers helped I had to do all the personal stuff. It must be so hard for you living so far away. Hope you get things sorted, my best wishes to you all.?

Hi messy and the mascoteers… I’ve been absent on sick lame and lazy leave for a few days … did I miss owt?
Gossip please
Messy is taking a bit of a break from GOT (understandably) but we all hope and pray he is doing okay.

In other news, turns out me and Dunc are old neighbours, Sassy has missed her vocation as a football commentator, Jazzy is not Carla Lane's brother in law, Anj used to get pissed on Skid Row on Friday afternoons when she should have been working, Gwladys' granddaughter is the new tooth fairy and Harry is a really really nice guy.

Hope you're feeling better mate.
