Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. It isn't raining. Yay! I think a quiet day is in order - it's been a bit full on recently. Full on for our current age anyway.🤣
The Irish songs have prompted this question- did any of the Liverpool natives go to Flanagans back in the day on a Sunday. There was an Irish band called Cream of the Barley who used to play there. They were brilliant. I've no idea how I ever made it to work on a Monday after a Sunday in Flanagans!

Morning all, stopped raining hooray, wind still blowing but at least it will blow the cobwebs away. Off for a walk this morning after being cooped up most of yesterday apart from trip into town for the husband’s glasses. Should have been packing for trip to Liverpool today, still feeling a bit down about it. Oh well, wasn’t meant to be. Hope the hen weekend is going well @Val P.
Have a good day, all.đź’™

Flanagan’s on Mathew St? I know that very well.

Morning all (is it morning or afternoon). Like you @anjelikaferrett my weekend has been Prosecco fuelled and full on. My last clear memory Friday night was going on the rope swing with my son in the park on the way back from the local restaurant (very age appropriate), and yesterday was a fabulous hen day which started with dignified Buck’s Fizz and cake in the midland hotel, followed by a bottomless brunch in a hell hole called Banyan (loud and rammed) and finally karaoke in a proper place with our own room - never experienced that before. I think a nap might be appropriate sometime this aft. A really good time was had by all.
I would say oh to be young but I saw nothing yesterday to make me wish that that was my weekend routine. It’s official- I’m geriatric.

I cannot stand Van Morrison.

A Covid denying sullen git for me.
I quite liked Brown eyed Girl which is a good song. But doesn't get close to my top 10 Irish acts. In no particular order The Cranberries, The Undertones, Thin Lizzy, U2, Horslips, Rory Gallagher, Ash, The Pogues, Clannad, Snow Patrol, The Corrs, The Script. That's just off the top of my head. I think I even preferred the Nolans to him, but that's probably because I fancied the chops off our Maureen. I do draw the line at B*Witched though (note the spelling Jazz)lol
