Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Pinched from somewhere :
A lady asks: "How much do you sell your eggs for?"
The old vendor replies "50¢ an egg, madam.” The lady says, “I'll take 6 eggs for $2.50 or I'm leaving.”
The old salesman replies “Buy them at the price you want, Madam. This is a good start for me because I haven't sold a single egg today and I need this to live.”
She bought her eggs at a bargain price and left with the feeling that she had won.
She got into her fancy car and went to a fancy restaurant with her friend. She and her friend ordered what they wanted. They ate a little and left a lot of what they had asked for.
They paid the bill, which was $150. The ladies gave $200 and told the fancy restaurant owner to keep the change as a tip...
This story might seem quite normal to the owner of the fancy restaurant, but very unfair to the egg seller...
The question it raises is:
𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙮?

I once read this somewhere ,that a father used to buy goods from poor people at high prices, even though he didn't need the things. Sometimes he paid more for them.
I was amazed. One day his son asked him "Why are you doing this Dad?" His father replied: "It's charity wrapped in dignity, son."
I want to challenge each one of us to do better. We can do that.

Afternoon guys. Found a bottle of Cal's Aldi pink gin in tge store cupboard which must have been there for at least 2 years. Having it with Aldi Mediterranean tonic and lemon.

Cheers everyone and don't let Everton get you down.

You have watered it down from 20% ! Not the fred I remember .

Good morning all. Last day in work for two weeks. Wooo! I have so much to do. You know that feeling when you think you are on top of everything then a load of other stuff lands on you that you weren't expecting. That is currently me.
I still haven't packed but we don't go until Monday so plenty of time.
I have some nice news to share. Was speaking to my son and his gf last night and they casually dropped into the conversation that they were 'going to a jewellers' over the weekend. Nothing official until they actually get the ring but I'm so happy for them. His girlfriend is lovely, very warm, very kind and very easy to get on with.
Have a good day folks. Speak later x
Fabulous news 💍 💙

Don’t know what to make of this 777 thing. But what do I know anyway. Just had a lovely day walking with my husband and son at Rivington Pike - a local beauty spot. It felt significant- our last time as our little family of 3 before he gets married next week and I no longer am the number one woman in his life ( that’s probably been the case for a while tbh) I feel so emotional, but that’s probably due to the 3 bottles of Madri I’ve had (I’m a cheap date 😂). Have a great evening everyone 💙

Just googled Rivington Pike - it’s stunning. Sounds like you had a lovely time together.

Buy local. Always support local.

Give them your trade, give them your conversion while you wait to be served. You have a name to greet you and while you might pay more for the chat, rather them than Tesco.

Did you call in at the Squirrel ? I used to go there with friends on Sunday nights ,at closing time the whole pub sang the song Jerusalem at full volume ,it was like going to the match .
Don't worry you will always be in the first woman in his life and the one he will turn to when needed .

Good morning all on the eve of our next match against the mere Arsenal ,I just cannot wait to see who he plays and if he uses the subs properly .
I hope all are well and had a good night .We will be storing the last of our chopped wood inside to keep it dry ,hopefully it had dried enough in the summer to be ready to burn .The door to the store is facing south and metal so that will radiate heat still ,then it is mushroom picking there has been so many ceps that we are ignoring them which for a "truffle pig " -Finnish name -is so hard .So only chanterelles and some we use to make a mushroom salad that I don't know in English and it is too early to wake mr google .Have a great day all COYB.

I haven't been to Rivington Pike for years. We used to go when we were kids for a day out. It will be an emotional time for you but a nice time too x

Good morning. I worked like a beaver yesterday and still didn't get finished so I'm doing overtime to get the last bits done. I hate leaving stuff for other people to finish. It didn't help that someone sent in 34 separate documents to me and I had to read all of them and take account of them. I'm only working as much as I need to to get finished - hopefully about 4 hours.
then it is into Durham to get some Euros and then to pack.
Catch up later.

Thank you @blue1948. I’m not sure if the Squirrel is still there - do you mean the one on Bolton Road in Horwich?
