Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. I can confirm that there is nowhere like your own bed!
@Ducans elbow I hope you are OK.
@jazzy enjoy the dog show and the golf. I'm not a big golf fan but the Ryder Cup is great.
I'm just off to do some food shopping. Really not looking forward to work tomorrow- not because I hate it or anything but because I would much rather be off!
Have a lovely Sunday.

As @Barnfred 55 knows my son has had a hard time in the last year particularly and he mailed me today to say that the ADD he has been suffering with has now been adjusted to include a nervous breakdown and PTSD .
I feel so helpless as whatever I post is dissected ,digested and spit out back at me .For sure I only want to help and as far as possible I try not to give the wrong impression with my comments but I am finding it harder than it seems because whatever he mentions ( which isn't so much ) are the things I am commenting on !
I have suggested the many problems he has are dealt with one at a time but of course that is a little too simplistic to be successful .
Stay safe and strong COYB

Really sorry for you both, as has been said probably best to speak rather than email, but who knows. I just hope it works out for you both….

You have to laugh. Sat watching the RS with my kids and their perplexed faces as I explain the concept of a video shop. In the age of streaming, they held the video cassette like it was alien technology 😀

One of those times I feel old!

* The video was the Rapid Vienna game.
You don't still have a VHS player do you mate?. That's probably worth a few bob now.

Sorry to hear that mate. Hopefully now the diagnosis has changed he can be put on different medication that can help.

The problem with the written word is that it has so many nuances and can very easily be taken the wrong way, especially if you are feeling down as your default position is to adopt the negative. Have you tried speaking to Matt?. Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs. Is he still up in Liverpool?

Speak to him Blue. Written words can easily be misinterpreted because they don't have the tone or body language that accompany the spoken word. You know what you mean but your son reads and interprets the words differently.
He's obviously going through a rough time which is hard for any parent to witness.
So sorry that you and your son are having such a hard time at the moment, to be so far away is doubly difficult. Communicating by email, text etc can be a minefield as it isn’t easy to convey your meaning and all too easy for the recipient to take a well-meant statement the wrong way. I hope your son is getting the help he needs from the health service this end. It is so hard to see your children suffer and feel powerless to help but you are helping by being there at the end of the phone for him and offering support. 💙
You both put it more eloquently than Je suis Fred.

Hi @Barnfred 55 ,thanks to all who posted support .Yes he is still up in Liverpool and I try to use FB whenever but he is like the Scarlet Pimpernel,he messages me but I don't see it as I don't really go on there other than to use it for video calling and by then it is too late ,I then reply saying I have missed him and he doesn't read the message for days . It is so hard and I have called his phone but he told me he is not happy back at the chilhood home as his mother isn't being supportive .Sad and desperate comes to mind .I wrote a long message to him with the caveat "that I am putting my head on the block " so I hope he understands I mean only good .

Brilliant but tiring day at the Dog show yesterday.

I took just under £700 on the gate and we made about £4k in total , which is great for the animals.

Got home in time to watch an hour of the golf which was fantastic.

Bit of a busy week ahead. Decorators in for 3 days , 2 nights of table tennis and next weekend away in Jersey to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Have a lovely day everyone.
