Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, sunshine is a bit hazy today much like myself lol, need to get myself into gear as off to do some decorating at daughters‘ this morning, We always announce our arrival with “Bodger and Badger at your service”. It was on tv when she was young - think Mr G and me should adopt it as our theme tune. Congrats on a great result at the dog show @jazzy.
Have a good day, all.💙

Good morning all on this fine sunny day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all are well and had a good night .Well my son read the post on FB but as usual no reply ,which I suppose could be taken two ways ,I live in hope .Have a great day all COYB.
For a bit of fun we have typed out the daily menus for the girls ,I hope there are things they haven't tasted and will take the cards home .

Brilliant but tiring day at the Dog show yesterday.

I took just under £700 on the gate and we made about £4k in total , which is great for the animals.

Got home in time to watch an hour of the golf which was fantastic.

Bit of a busy week ahead. Decorators in for 3 days , 2 nights of table tennis and next weekend away in Jersey to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Have a lovely day everyone.
Good stuff mate ;)

Just out of interest, how does that compare to previous years? Just wondered if you were feeling the inch of the current financial squeeze.

We're having our first mizzle of the Autumn today. The forecast for later in the week and into the weekend is very good though so maybe have my last barbies of the year and hopefully also a final swim in the sea. Hope everyone has a good week.

I've become pretty adept at insulating myself from things that upset me or get me worked up. But the one thing guaranteed to rile me every time is the overly positive media attention the RS always seem to attract. Every other club has had bad VAR decisions go against them, some more than others. But as soon as it happens to that lot the whole system is suddenly broken. Don't know about you but it makes my blood boil.

Totally agree. It would not surprise me if they are angling to get the match replayed.

Very good question Fred.

Firstly it's the Autumn show and given that the weather is often dicey £4 k is about par.

Our best in summer is £7k and that was this year , so no I don't think the cost of living crisis is having an effect on our takings. People can be very generous.

It's their sense of entitlement.

My TT club has a WhatsApp chat and it's all about how hard done by they are and how the result should be reversed. I pointed out the little old Everton have been on the end of far more miscarriages of justice and no one gives a monkeys

TBH I've come to expect that from their fans and I wouldn't even enter into dialect with them anymore. Not even my own brother, with whom my infrequent telephone conversations are now very short as a consequence.

No, it's the media reaction/attention that get's to me Jazz.

It’s incredible really, it’s like they’re the first to do anything. A few years ago my brother sent me one of those gif/ photo thingys doing the round, it was just after the Pickford incident. , I can’t remember all details it was like “ Premier League : First goal ….., ; First hat trick Eric Cantona; First Injury ..Virgil Van Dyke “ I guess we can now add to that ‘ First Club to suffer from a wrong VAR decision ….”

Imagine they ever hit a spell of a sustained decline. The fallout would be initially immense but I suspect the media and fans would swiftly move onto something new and shiny.

Hi folks. First day back at work was very dull. I didn't speak to a soul. It's one of the bad things about working from home. You can go for days without interacting with anybody. I did receive an email asking if I would like to join the Engagement Forum which has three vacancies. Go forth and multiply was my answer. Pointless waste of space designed by clueless managers who wouldn't know engagement if it jumped up and bit them.
It will be interesting to see the outcome of the RS crying about VAR. I was being tongue in cheek when I said they want the game replayed but it wouldn't surprise me. However what a can of worms that would open from all the previous shockingly bad decisions that have been made. I'm still unsure if VAR is corrupt or incompetent. Or maybe both.
I hope you are all OK. @Gwladysover my kids loved Bodger and Badger!
