I'm not sure that you crossed any imaginary lines that we have set ourselves G.Fully appreciate what you are saying. I wouldn’t wish to bring politics on here, I don’t watch the news as it’s too upsetting but it was brought to my attention as he is our MP. It just set me off and I posted without thinking. I am truly sorry if I caused any offence, it wasn’t my intention.
So glad your back coped with the gardening and the garden sounds as if it is going to be beautiful. My old boss used to go to Kalkan a lot and returned this year for the first time since Covid. Her verdict was it had changed a bit but was still as beautiful. It’s def somewhere I would like to go.Morning everyone,
No idea what the weather is doing as I'm too lazy to get out of bed yet
Mrs J up early and making breakfast ( it's my job usually) as she is off first thing to the charity Shop.
Think I will pop to the gym and then think about moving the huge Camellia.
Yesterday was a full day of gardening and right now my back feels fine .
Managed to create mums new rose garden by moving 10 wheelbarrows of rotted manure , transplanted 8 rose shrubs and building a tiny retaining wall. Granny was very happy.
Didn't stop there as I created another bed the other side of her fence by taking out a section of lawn and planting 2 pitisporum, an Acer , 2 rhodis and leaving space for the large camellia.
The great thing is that all these plants were already in the garden just hidden when we planted stuff too close together.
Anyway as you can imagine I slept well last night , particularly after Mrs J told me that she has ordered 500 bulbs that I've got to plant in the next couple of weeks. She's a slave driver! Actually not as bad as it sounds , don't have to dig 500 individual holes but probably about 25 with 20 bulbs in each.
The carrot was that she's booked us a holiday in June. I wanted to go island hopping in Greece but you need at least 2 weeks for that. Apart from when my cousin comes up from Plymouth it's difficult to get someone mum knows who's available for 2 weeks to look after her.
So because we can only get the Sister in law for 1 week and because Mrs J wants a couple of new rugs we are going to Kalkan in Turkey .
We've been a couple of times but not for 10 years or so. Should be good .
Anyway I guess I'd better get up and feed the goats and the chickens , at least I'll find out what the weather is that way
Have a lovely day everyone.
Take care xTorrential rain last night has led to very heavy flooding in Armagh. I saw cars almost submerged earlier on the news but thankfully not as bad where I am. Even the train line to Dublin is closed as part of it is under water
With more heavy rain coming I am not looking forward to an early morning drive to the airport tomorrow nevermind being up in the air!!
To be honest Anj I can’t see myself going again, I’ve had enough of standing in fields with people who can’t shut up. Good to see he’s playing up north though, I’ll look forward to your report@bigjonny Bruce is coming back to Europe next year. One of his gigs is in Sunderland. I'm so happy!
Val you only live down the road , you are more than welcome to visit and have a nose around the garden but it's at its best in springSo glad your back coped with the gardening and the garden sounds as if it is going to be beautiful. I'm fine mate , I was in a bad place yesterday just locked in memories but you just have to move on even if life doesn't deal you the cards you hoped.@paultheblue how are you today mate?
Good you are feeling better today but all understandable. We are all just a collection of memories but yet also hope for the future.I'm fine mate , I was in a bad place yesterday just locked in memories but you just have to move on even if life doesn't deal you the cards you hoped.
Thanks for asking and taking the time to post
Hope all is well with you and your family
Thank you that would be lovely to see in spring but I’m scared of coming away with Wilson (your rescue dog) at the moment . I had a beautiful English Bull Terrier called Rosie and have always loved the breed. I follow your rescue on Facebook and am constantly ooohing and aaahing at the dogs you rescue.Val you only live down the road , you are more than welcome to visit and have a nose around the garden but it's at its best in spring
