Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Going out with Rob tonight to a golf club near Camborne, about 15/20 miles away. We'd been without power for about for about 10 hours so I asked him if it was still on tonight. Apparently they'd had no issues and there's no traffic warnings for the roads.
At least you will be out in the heat and light enjoying yourself mate!

Hoping all of you stay safe during this huge storm you're having, especially @Armaghtoffee @Barnfred 55 and @PhilM !

I have some GREAT NEWS!!! I finally got my tentative job offer yesterday!! Yay!!!

Wow, it was long haul to get to this point! I had to do all of these online questionnaires yesterday and of course, I had internet problems. lol I was able to get everything I need done for the moment.

Have a great day everyone and stay dry!
Oh well done.

Doesn’t need to be said but Liverpool is such a welcoming city. Feels like home now, even for my kids. Eldest lad told me it was his 25th match and I will take his word as he wasn’t looking a cake and I’m not checking programmes.

Sadly, same lad, mid teens, brought up the homeless in the City. He is noticing the increase around the city centre.

Something is going wrong.

Really pleased for you…..

Well I have made it home safely and navigated the floods thank God. I have never seen anything like that before here. I have friends whose houses were breached by the water and I don’t know what to say to them. Where do you even start reclaiming your house from that horror??

My house escaped it completely and actually was never in danger. Just mere minutes from me, people were navigating roads by boat. Incredible.

As my wonderful wife has always insisted buy a house on the top of the hill…….

Managed to dodge the worst of the weather up here, hope everyone is okay.
I'm meeting my gaffer from my previous job in Glasgow for a few pints today.
We'll meet in the city and walk out to Patrick Cross via a few hostelries, find a place for eats then jump the bus or underground back to the city whatever time that maybe all dependant on the weather but it's not too bad a forecast tbf.

Sounds like a lovely day that.

Good morning all. The news of the day is, apart from it being Mr F's birthday, that the Bruce tickets have been obtained. It's only two days before the son's wedding so I hope I'm not required for any mother of the groom duties!
I found a race meeting to buy tickets for as a gift for Mr F. We are going to Ascot in February. For the horse racing fans, it is Betfair Chase day. I've also found what looks like a lovely place to stay in Ascot about 25 minutes walk from the course.
I'm off out soon to get a birthday cake for him and we're out for a meal tonight. Son is coming to visit tomorrow, so looking forward to that.
Have a good day lovelies x

Amazing how often having a good day involves a few beers with friends 😀

Enjoy LT.

Happy birthday Mr F. Hope you're treating him later. To a nice meal I might add😀

Well I got home last night to another blackout. Luckily Rob had a torch in the car so was able to help me find my own torch so I could get upstairs to bed. All OK this morning.

Had a really good night. His mates from the round table always make me feel very welcome, plus I won the raffle which was a bottle of coffee rum, whatever that is. The ticket was drawn by this old guy who just happens to be an Evertonian. So there were cries of fix which was quite amusing. We were also playing the darts version of killer and I somehow made it down to the last two.

Hopefully my mild hangover dissipates by 5pm in time for my G&T. Have a great day everybody.
