Well, apart from the fact that it rained all day and all evening so no matter what we tried with stuffing the sodding bonfire with paper, boxes of fire lighters and gallons of petrol it would not light. However the fireworks were amazing, even if I say so myself, and the two lads helping me did a fantastic job. The kids and families all had a great time and the bars and BBQ were busy all night, the pub itself was absolutely rammed, as was the car park and smoking shed etc. I’m home now, shattered, sopping wet even with all my wet gear, the mud had to be seen to be believed and I could not get onto the field. Anyway, now showered and relaxing with a hot cup of tea and feeling warm again...a great night tbh…..

I'm so glad all went well - apart from the bonfire. Enjoy your tea.

OMD are one of the best live bands you could see. Andy McClusky is an absolute showman and always has a good chat with the audience. They are probably the band I have seen live the most times.

Also saw an interview with Jonny Marr earlier and he was asked what new acts he liked. Guess what his answer was?

How is your better half today Peter?

She was fine until about 40 minutes ago and then threw up the whole of her evening meal over herself, carpet and chair. So it was clothes off, into the shower to get her clean, while my lad sorted out the carpet and chair and put her clothes into the washing machine. She is sat here fine now with a large bowl close to hand. Highly unusual tbh, never happened before, so it looks like it may have been the salmon that she ate. Apart from that it is what it is I’m afraid…thanks for asking……

Sadly no. We're watching The Breeder's Cup races. We were at Santa Anita in 2016 to watch that year's Breeder's Cup so its a bit of a trip down memory lane.
