The question is can you dispatch, no let’s say kill, an animal. I have with rabbits my soft mouthed lurchers have brought to me and also trout which I caught.

I'm sure that's a source of pride mate.

No pride at all. Simple thing is I like meat. When I see the number of veggie/ vegan products in supermarkets dressed up to resemble meat I do find that a bit strange.

I can't think of any product that is made to look like meat TD

Sure some of them claim to taste similar ( very questionable).

In my view there's nothing disingenuous about that.

Even though it's a quarter of a century ago I can still fondly remember the taste of bacon and chicken .

If you can replicate that without killing a living being I'm all for that.

We have had the veggie thing before and it is like the reds and the blues ,never the twain shall" agree" .Me I love meat and couldn't see my life without it but I respect "the other side " . As long as you are happy it is good . I couldn't kill a warm blooded animal but I have learned to gut ,clean and fillet fish with the best of them doing upto 80/100 fish in a day when they come upstream in the early summer . I did once get given a duck that was shot about two hours earlier ,when I took it out of the car it was still warm from the heater ,I was very near vomiting when I had to chop off the legs and head .It is so everyday here that it is normal .

I wasn’t looking to start an argument on this, not the right thread anyway, but look at something like shicken, even the name is ridiculous and the packaging has to assure you the kebabs shown are meat free. I mean if you want a veggie kebab then bell peppers, mushrooms and onions doused in paprika and garlic infused olive oil, skewered and grilled or barbecued are bloody lovely. Put a few cubes of lamb in between the veggies makes them lovelier mind!

Sometimes, local communities make you welcome and are funny.

I have used the same barber for years; a blokes paradise. Always get Jimbo to cut me hair. Anyrate, popped up there earlier today for a much needed #2. Walked in, and all 3 of them looked up from their cuts, (Jimbo, Mark and Jordan) and all said varieties of, "what the eff have your club done now Roydo? Jimbo is getting paid today right?"

"Cash lads. Off the books ok? No grassing?"

I have always served Quorn nuggets to our grandkids under the guise of chicken nuggets, they never guessed it wasn’t actually chicken. I agree with @jazzy about the bacon though and it repeats on you something terrible. lol
