Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Oh no! A long time ago we lived in Nigeria for a couple of years. I was aged 5 ish. I started school there. My Dad got a job in Lagos port so off we went. It was very colonial - we had a cook, a house boy (shocking phrase) and a gardener. For quite a while there was a little black goat wandering around the place where we lived. I made friends with him , named him Billy ( very original!) and took him for walks with a piece of string tied round his neck. Billy inexplicably went missing one day. I was an adult when my Mum told me that Billy had been the main course to celebrate a religious festival the Nigerians had!
So sad, even now when I see the sheep in the lorries on the motorway I tell myself they’re going on holiday and I hate it if one of them makes eye contact

I’m sure it was for the best when our parents told us/didn’t tell us these things. Ought they not to have spoiled the memories though? I was very honest with my son about his pets - that said they all died peacefully and I might not have told him that Duncan his goldfish was flushed down the loo (after he died obvs) and of course they all went to heaven as they were kind and good goldfish/hamsters/budgies and our dog. After one of our dogs died my son was only about 4 or 5 and we flew to Rhodes on holiday. The air hostess asked him was he ok, and he said would she please ask the pilot to fly a bit higher so he could see Rosie, his dog, in heaven. We were all filling up 😢
💙💙💙 Animals definitely go to heaven. I will be very sad if there are no pets in the afterlife.

If there are then there is going to be murder for my affections, from Beauty the lab in the slums of Kirkdale, through Scottie, Smokey, Duster, Ollie, Stan and finally Stoli who might outlive me could be a fight. My money is on Scottie a whippet lurcher though angry arse Stoli a grey/saluki might have a word!

Censorship at its best - they don’t want people to hear our anger towards the premier league- what’s happening to this country?

Sky Sports will take steps to prevent offensive language from a planned protest by Everton fans being clearly audible during the live TV match against Manchester United on Sunday. To comply with Ofcom’s rules, the broadcaster will even consider using pre-recorded crowd noise if required. [@_pauljoyce]

Not the first time they have done something like this by any means. Earlier this season, NUFC v them and as the teams come out you could hear their dirge above everything else. Don’t know if you have been to NUFC ground but the away fans are situated about half a mile from the stadium. 2000 v 53000, the 2 won 🤣

Here’s some pics from Chatsworth @Gwladysover, it really was beautiful- wasn’t sure if I should censor the third one tbh. The light show on the outside of the house was pretty spectacular too.

Bet you don't see many / any crowd scenes either.

Sky will be desperate for a United win.
