Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I'm in total agreement.....apart from the toilet seat .

It has hammered down all day here but the sun's just come out but still windy as hell.

Me being the idiot that I am has only gone and strained my side playing ping pong this afternoon.

It's practice for God's sake, why do I take everything so competitively!!!!
Hopefully just one of those injuries that heals itself overnight with a bit of deep heat on it.

Sometimes in this day and age it makes you wonder ,how and why it is so hard .I know I praise the Finnish system endlessly but as an example yesterday I went for my annual check up and being my age I have a few problems -some new some old- So with the new ones , I still have this bursitis ,the doctor saw it and I have an appointment today to drain it and a cortisone jab , I have pain in my feet ,today I go for an xray and Thursday for a blood test to see if it is rheumatism ,I have been going light headed ,today I go for a test ,next week I will see the specialist for my kidneys as one of the markers has moved slightly .
I do pay for this and it will all cost around 38€ which is the test fee .
Pretty rapid and efficient

Good morning all on this foggy day here in Finland ,I hope all are well and had a lovely night . It went well yesterday ,they drained the bursa and sent the fluid away for testing ,no needle as the doctor said if there is an infection it will feed off the cortisone ! Unhappily it has filled again so I will be there again next week to have it tapped ! Meanwhile ( back at the ranch) it is painkillers and cold compacts .All these little things are an annoyance but I am so lucky to be as healthy as I am ,there are people my age that struggle . Have a great day all COYB .

A very stoic but correct attitude to it all blue. Hopefully they get to the bottom of it soon and you can leave it behind.

Morning all,

Well contrary to @peteblue advice I will be going to the gym and doing lots of stretches as I've found through the years that that is the best way to deal with minor muscle injuries.

It's also my least favourite gym day of the week....it's leg day. Honestly I can hardly walk after it ( @anjelikaferrett I'm sure you will know the feeling).

A bit wet this afternoon so some IPL and reading and then hopefully a full day of gardening tomorrow.

@blue1948 sorry to hear of your medical travails I hope your various issues clear up soon.
No Everton game until Monday so we should be able to enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable weekend.

Off to Bodnant Gardens in N Wales next week which in my humble opinion ( sorry @Barnfred 55 ) is the best garden in the UK - and yes Trebah is fantastic and one of my favorites. Bodnant is the inspiration behind our garden and even though we must have been 10 or 12 times there is always a new , fresh idea , that we bring back with us and introduce into the garden.

So, whatever you are doing or have planned have a lovely time.

Morning all, beautiful bright morning here. I’m off to see my friend this morning and to tell her all about my recent adventures. I have promised her I’ll shut up when I see her eyes start to glaze over lol
@jazzy I won’t say hope enjoy your gym session as it doesn’t sound as though you will but I hope it does the trick for your muscle problems.
@blue1948 hope they get your bursitis sorted soon sounds as though they are on the case.
Have a good day, all.💙

Bit early for the laburnum aren't we Jazz?

The laburnum arch is probably my least fav bit of Bodnant
Have you ever seen it in full bloom? It's quite spectacular. It's only out for a week or so and I think we only caught it twice out of about 50 visits.

The rose garden is amazing but my fave was always the Italian garden. I'm guessing you like the valley garden most. Am I right?

Bodnant is certainly in my top 3.

You are spot on. I love the topography and use of planting into the valley.
We don't even bother with the rose garden and the Italian garden .
We go for the rhododendron, Camelia, acers and magnolia and this is the best time of year to visit.

I was always enthralled by the giant redwoods down there.

The "jungle" garden at Heligan is what makes it standout for me. So many exotic plants too.
