Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, off to Preston this morning for a work meeting, lazy afternoon and then son coming round for tea and to watch the game with us tonight. It will be interesting to see how we play now we have nothing to play for except pride and the few millions that a higher placement in the league will bring. It certainly helps the blood pressure.
Hope your son is doing well @anjelikaferrett, and hope @Barnfred 55 is ok and up to posting us his beverage of choice tonight.
Have a great Friday all 💙
I'm good thanks Val. Albeit a bit melancholy this morning. Did my usual wake up routine this morning which involves scrolling through various apps on my phone, including Facebook. The first thing to hit me was a photo of my closest brother. I knew it was his birthday but it hadn't sunk in that he would have been 70 today which makes it all the more poignant. No doubt I'll get over it a lot quicker than I feel comfortable with, because that's what I do.

Anyway, I will indeed be posting my beverage of choice later which, with being a Friday, will of course be a G&T in some format or another. It's quite nice out today for a change so I'll take the opportunity of going into Falmouth this afternoon. Before that a walk to the local shop beckons for my posh sausages and hopefully a pasty, which should put me in a better mood. ;)

I hope I find you all well today and looking forward to the weekend. I'll catch you later.💙

You got it in one Eggs. I have seen it from the air and seeing it from the river will be the icing on the cake. The walk along the waterfront to a game will be wonderful but they have to sort out that rickety bridge near the Titanic hotel.
Just come across a band from your neck of the woods today mate, Dea Matrona (love the name by the way). Not sure if you know of them but they just dropped a new album today and first listening I quite like it. Old school rock so may not be your thing. And yes Jazzy, I believe they both do in fact play guitar.

They are new to me but I will give them a listen. How did you find these two?

How random is that!

😗
Not really mate. I have an extensive music collection on CD and 2 full Ipods which is mostly old stuff (by which I mean over 7/8 years). So I use Spotify and YouTube mainly to find new music. And most of my new music tends to involve women musicians and/or singers. I just think they're making better music at the moment. So on that basis it probably isn't as random as you think.

Rachel Chinouriri also dropped her first album today and I'm looking forward to playing that later. Here's a single she released last year.

My comment was meant tongue in cheek given your penchant for guitar wielding ladies 😉

Rachel Chinouriri is very good and gets loads of air play on mainstream radio. She is a bit of a throwback to me stylistically.

I’m sure you already know her work but I find that Cat Burns is increasingly appearing on my playlists. Very talented lady.

Not really on my radar mate. I know she had a big hit a few years back which was more R&B iirc, which is OK but not something I'd actively search out. Do you think I'd like her?

We all have our own ways of dealing with things and the sadness is an indication of how much you thought of him💙. I’ll be g and t-ing it tonight as the least calorific drink with a slimline.
