Now there’s a Liverpool experience I have never had the pleasure of- going through the Mersey Tunnel lol. It isn’t high on my list either I will admit.

You are missing out…..the Queensway tunnel is magnificent, the Kingsway is a bit boring though. I remember walking through the Kingsway on a sponsored walk across to Wallasey and back in about 1970/71 just before it opened……

Really?

Im not fond of using the Dublin Port tunnel but thinking now that using it as a reference point for the Mersey Tunnels isn’t accurate given how you describe Queensway.

I also have never got the ferry across the Mersey but that is definitely on my list to do.

…I was a toddler in the early ‘60s & when we were in the Mersey train tunnel, my dad used to say ‘now you’re under the river and if you look closely you can see the fish’. Like a fool I used to look. Mind you he also said; ‘Dixie Dean was so good in the air, he used to take penalties with his head’ :blush:
