Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well don't know what happened with the Finnish public vote. Honestly thought all the looney Europeans would lap that up. Even more shocked by the Israel public vote.

At least I was right with Croatia and Switzerland though. Probably deserved winner and I don't normally say that.

The Responder on BBC is well worth a watch. Set in Liverpool with plenty of Everton links throughout. Martin Freeman is absolutely superb in it.
His scouse accent is unreal. He took a lot of stick in the first season because he didn't sound like Jamie Carragher or John Bishop, but Liverpool natives know how good it was.

I watched the second episode the other night after watching an episode of Baby Reindeer and The tattooist of Auschwitz, and I needed therapy afterwards. 😀

Watching the first episode last weekend I remember thinking how old/poorly Bernard Hill looked, not realising he had actually died earlier that day. Quite surreal.

His accent is very convincing.

Baby Reindeer- a mate recommended it to me. I didn’t think it would be his or my thing from reading the blurb. What did you think of it?

Very difficult viewing mate. I've only watched 3 episodes over a 3 week period despite the full series being available and the episodes are only half an hour. Reading the TV series thread in The Ale House episode 4 is quite shocking so not sure I'll watch any more. Too much angst is not good for my mental health.

Sounded Kirkdale/ Walton to me just like my own. A few bits were dodgy but in general the best non native attempt I’ve heard. Bishop and Carragher are ridiculous, never heard anyone sound like them up here.

I have misunderstood it as a dark comedy then. It seems like a must watch though given the reviews of it.

It's the subject matter that is relatable to so many. I think most of us have had unwanted attention at some stage. It happened to me twice in my younger days. One was just a fling (to me) when I was still at school. The second was an older work colleague when I just started working. I had to be transferred out eventually. Both were in the days before social media and .mobile phones so it must be even worse these days.

As I am olny half as good looking as you I can only claim being stalked once a girl from Southport came to Liverpool night after night but it wasn't as scary as the Tv series :)
